Back in their heyday as a young teen I never gave these guys a chance. My friends and I made fun of them to no end. As I got into adulthood though and became more open-minded and honest with myself about my own tastes I've become a big fan. Currently own and enjoy the entire discography as well as much of Michael Sweets solo work. I'd go so far as to say they've arguably stood the test of time to become one of the best acts of their era still going. In fact, they're objectively BETTER now than they were back at their commercial peak. Nothing but love and respect for this band. Stryper definitely get the last laugh!

When we were Kings mix, production and sound to me is the best I have heard in years! The drums harmonies and guitars are perfectly mixed and the Vocals and guitar sound are the best I have experienced in many albums. Michaels vocals and again the guitar sound is the best. One last thing, the lead solos on the whole album are in your face and both Michael and OZ shine greatly on every solo. Killer mix and sound

Thanks for the review. I did like their past few albums, when I first heard this new album, I didn't like it as much because it wasn't as heavy. After listening to it a few times, I really like this album. It's not as heavy, more rock, like you said. Take care!

WWWK is another superb album from Stryper. Whilst their first four 80’s albums still hold a special place, their now last 6 albums from NMHTP are just a different level exploring different types of music within the genre. Fallen is still probably their best, but this new one is not too far behind. Allan.

Way too metal? I'm speechless lol. Sorry I don't understand that one bit. They are a metal band, how can they be too metal? I really don't get your logic on that one. I thought you liked metal. I just don't understand being rubbed the wrong way by a heavy metal band playing heavy metal lol. The latter albums they've been putting out are the best they've ever done to my ears. I don't know about you, but I like heavy music. They're making heavy music, so what is the problem? Sorry I just don't understand you. Don't get me wrong, everything is subjective and you like what you like. I understand that of course. Its's just that "too metal" comment that baffles me. Dude, THEY'RE A METAL BAND!!!! People I tell ya lol.
@BrendonSnyder
@BrendonSnyder 3 ай бұрын
Tyler…I’m speechless that I have to explain this to you but there are different types of metal bands and some are heavier and softer than the others. Additionally Stryper hasn’t always been as heavy as they have been on say God Damn Evil and Take It To The Cross. Now all of this was said in the video and if you listened closer you would have understood the first time. Thanks for wasting both our time with your comment.

@@BrendonSnyder Don't be upset. I absolutely remember their eighties sound. I listened very closely to video while knowing that you like heavy music. If anything, I thought you would be impressed with their heavier direction, as they were always a heavy metal band.
@kingdude1999
@kingdude1999 3 ай бұрын
And they've always delved into the heavier aspects on their albums. Soldiers Under Command, The Rock that Makes Me Roll & Surrender are pretty heavy. Then you've got The Way & More Than a Man on THWTD that'll melt your face off. And then The Writings on the Wall & The Reign on IGWT are just as heavy.
@tylerenns8730
@tylerenns8730 3 ай бұрын
@@kingdude1999 Exactly. At their core they've always been a metal band, regardless of being lumped in with the hair metal bands of the eighties. Sure they do their power ballads, but they've always been heavy. That was all I was trying to explain to Brenden. I guess he just doesn't get that. "Too metal", that was so cringe lol.

Yes that’s what I said…but the Yellow And Black Attack was an EP. Their debut album was Soldiers Under Command. Yellow And Black Attack was later reissued with two extra tracks making it an album posthumously. Regardless it’s still not their debut album. 👍
