I picked up a cot like Sid’s a few weeks ago. My whole 1 man tent fits on top of it. The tent floor always gets wet in heavy rains, so I’m gonna see if this fixes it. It’s real comfortable, been sleeping on it every night since I got it.

Hey Scotty how's it going. A friend of mine has a 2001 twin cam same fuel injection has 96,000 me not one single problem. As you know it's kind of a hit and miss with them they're either good or bad. Hopefully yours will be a good one. Probably stop by and talk to you in Sturgis again. Have a good one.

The Mule has a cam, 6 speed, Legonds shocks, cartridge forks, cut seat, and higher bars, and its all around simpler. Plus the history together. Things are always closer to your heart when u do them with your own hands. Even if its just a porch u built. A thing most modern riders will never know.

Really glad you were able to find that bike. Sounds like a good deal for the way you get around. I have heard concerns about the early fuel injection for a long time. Hope it gives you a lot of trouble free miles.

I have a 2000 roaking with S&S super E and Daytona twintec twc88. It has tach system and adjustable timing. Ive had no trouble since then.

Great Video. Especially interesting the last section about converting old Ultra to carb. I now own my Dad’s 96 Injected Ultra with 50k miles. Great bike but I’ve always wondered how hard to put a carb on it when that early style injection fails. Great bike to ride. I enjoy riding it as much as my late model. Thanks for putting that section in this video.

Super easy. Use a dyntec2000i ignition and coil, get a VOES switch and carb/intake at up. Take you a weekend tops

I haven't done it yet, but already have most of the parts. They tell me its expansive to buy all that stuff. I'm also told that getting a petcock in the tank is the biggest problem. I'll also use a stock ignition because every after market one I've used has ultimately failed. But that is a high milage thing.

Are you still running the electronic ignition , my stock 96 Fatboy evolution melted and are discontinued so I’m going back to point system.

Sounds like the pick up unit in the cone melted. Thats normal. Doesnt affect how the thing works. U can also still buy those new. My first stock electronic ignotion lasted 337000 miles. Thats why i like em.

You can still delete the fuel injection on the twin cams.. the Swedish chopper builders have been using the twin cam and transmission in their builds for years now.. I know the first few years of twin cam it's easily done just like with a evo. Buddy has a 03 road king that he got rid of all the crap off of.

Since, you ride older bikes. How do you tighten the inner fairing wind deflectors? Mine has a large chrome piece at the bottom that doesn’t have grooves for a screw driver. What is the secret?

Not sure what you're talking about Chris, but those little plastic fairing deflectors just bolt on. That's all.

This May seem like an odd question…. What do you get to eat at the grocery store. Is it something for a quick meal and or get supplies for a few days. I’m looking for practical ways to eat healthy when traveling on my bike for month and longer trips.

That's a tuff one. I like to carry a bag of cereal then get milk the night before. Canned beans sometimes. Roman & Tuna, stuff like that. Mostly it's just emergency food. Like if I run across a nice spot and feel like stopping early then I'll want something to eat, morning coffee, and plenty of water. Otherwise I eat out a lot.

It’s made to look over and the way it’s designed it blows and redirect the wind up over you. You really should try one one time if I ever run into you I’ll let you take my bike down the road and try it. I love mine and I’m the cheapest bastard on the planet so for me to spend $200 on the windshield is saying something.

Grayl they take a press cartridge. Each cartridge gives about 350 presses from what I read. Thinking about picking one up myself.

Scotty don't scrap that hard drive. if you know someone who has a computer repair shop good chances they have software to recover what you think you lost. if not make sure before you trash it that you take a high powered magnet like a speaker magnet and run it all over it to destroy what is on it then trash it.
