Thank you for your videos, I find them interesting. I too installed the STS turn system, and just like you I somehow reversed the channels. My system was working like yours in the first video, which is to say it was OK, but not worth the money. I watched this video yesterday and found your correction. I went out to my shop and discovered the error, corrected it, now my system is working better that I ever imagined, I even ordered another system for my Triumph. I do suggest you redo your first video and include a warning about reversing the channels, had I not watch this video I never would have known.

Yeah very cool!! I'd seriously consider installing both... we'll see About not deleting and reposting your first vid... the thing is, if people fall upon the first video while searching or cruising around vids, they might not get the full story, even if you do the correction in the description (who reads anything anymore). I think if you really like the system and don't want to "screw over" the brand that does it, you owe it to them to have a nice, squared correction... That's my take Love the channel, love the vids Cheers

(Canada) thank you for posting this video! I couldn't figure out how I was going to connect to the rear tail lights (2015 750 Honda Shadow Aero) it seemed to me that I'd have to somehow squish the module in between the wheel and the fender LOL I also really impressed with that turn signal cancelling accessory, wow I had no idea that it was so sensitive. One slight issue, "Canada Post" charged me $14.79 tax, and $9.95 "handling fee" grrrrrrrr! LOL
@informedwolf91243 жыл бұрын
I have one installed and it's way too sensitive. People riding with me were confused as why i was braking all the time. I will remove mine.
@nathaniel4fat3 жыл бұрын
I wonder if adjusting the angle of the sensor up would reduce the sensitivity?
@John_Ridley6 ай бұрын
@@nathaniel4fat I bought one, and it's useless. In order to adjust it so that it doesn't flash all the time, you have to make it so insensitive that it doesn't work at all. And even then it flashes on bigger bumps in the road.
@QGJohn7 күн бұрын
I read there is a newer version out which does not do the "flashing brake light" unless you buy some other component (more money). Also I don't see Harley listed on the chart.

@John_Ridley6 ай бұрын
Tip the front down for more sensitivity. However I removed mine after one 10 mile trip. No matter how it's adjusted, it flashes the brake light almost constantly on even a slightly uneven surface.

You think this will work with newer bike can bus systems?
@jerrybradford5073 Жыл бұрын
Does the st2 brake module do anything when the brake is applied? Or only when the bike decelerates? In other words if the bike is standing still and you touch the brake will it flash 5 times?
@John_Ridley6 ай бұрын
On the 2023 version anyway, it just sits in parallel with the brake light, it does not interrupt it, so the brake light switch would take precidence and the tail light would be on constantly.

Got to say I've got similar system on my triumph (indicators) but on uk roads its a nightmare you often have a slight turn before a T junction, I found it cancelled the indicator just as i arrived at the turn or while waiting for a gap basically worse than forgetting to cancel. Would be interested in how these handle in non straightforward situations.
@CafeRacerGarage6 жыл бұрын
Paul Rodger Hi Paul, I can only imagine what it’s like driving on the roads and last time I was there we Just use public transport and stayed in London area. whenever I use this to do something like change lanes it recognises it and Turns off the indicators. If I Make A lane change and turn a corner shortly after you may need to put the blinker on twice just like you would in a car, in fact it works very similar to the car indicator system once you get used to it. If I pull up to a intersection and put my indicator on to make a turn The STS will leave my indicator on Until I’ve made that turn once again much like a car indicator system works. Do you mind me asking what Turn system is on your bike right now just out of curiosity? Have a great day and thank you for the comment brother.
@coldmetalcouk6 жыл бұрын
Cafe Racer Garage yeah it's the factory fitted self cancelling indicators on the tiger explorer 1200 i havent looked into it in great detail but turned it off on mine after a few dodgy moments..i love the idea but might be triumph missed the mark on their implementation. Thank you mate I will always share my builds as long as I get awesome comments like this, Yes it sounds like that year Triumph it's not as accurate as the STS but not to say Triumph hasn't improved the system by now, I just trust the STS as much as I trust the air in my tyres because, I tested and tested and tested it and I can't seem to get it to not do what its ment to do :) If you have any tech Questions just shoot them an email, you will get a fast response :) Its so worth having and peace of mind too.

Heads up to anyone thinking of buying the latest V3 version of the ST2 brake module. Its advertised as... "ST2 Brake Module uses an accelerometer and motion detection sensors combined with a proprietary algorithm to detect engine-braking or down-shifting. It’s an intelligent system that doesn’t interfere with the actual brake light operation." That sounds like it has a 6 axis IMU doesnt it? It does not... it has a simple tilt switch. I could have cobbled one using a tilt switch for less than £5. This corner cutting simplicity of a cheap tilt switch provides no frame of reference for the attitude of the bike which means that it could also activate going down a hill even when not slowing. Also... and I quote directly... "FLASHES YOUR BRAKE LIGHT WHEN SPEED DECREASES DUE TO ENGINE BRAKING OR DOWN-SHIFTING" This is false... it flashes once on initial power up but in normal functioning use it only activates the brake light on de-acceleration with no flashing. Misleading advertising. Earlier version/s used to also have the flashing option if mounted upside down but they have done away with that in the V3.... and if you want that capability you now have to buy their new brake flasher seperately.... its called the ST2 Strober and its not advertised to the general public... (maybe to hide the fact that the V3 doesn't have this functionality any longer?) You are only informed about its existance by email after you have bought the ST2 brake module... and its an extra £34.39 posted just to have the same functionality of the previous versions of the brake module... obviously to make more money. To have only half the functionality of the previous version and not making their customers aware is as low as it comes.I wouldn't have bought it if I'd known and I feel ripped off. Not a good way to do business ST2 but don't worry I'm going to post this on every video site I can find so that prospective buyers can make fully informed decisions, they deserve to know what they are really buying and not to be deceived.

I bought this before the company went out of business or shut down, then they reopened and then closed again. No support available, emails and phone don't work. It didn't say what wires to connect to on a harley davidson but i ordered it for my specific bike however they sent me one for an earlier model with the single center brake light but i have two independently wired ones so it won't work for my application. They screwed me over never getting back to me before they shut down. It's a shame, its a good product idea.

I just tried one of these, the new 2023 version. For me, it's worthless junk. I actually designed and 3D printed a bracket to hold it in a variety of angles, and no matter how I adjusted it, it flashes spastically every time I hit the slightest bump in the road. it looks like my brake switch is faulty. If I adjust the angle to be sensitive enough to pick up deceleration, it basically never stops flashing, it's just jittering the light constantly. I asked them to honor their money back guarantee and they would but I have to ship the unit back from the US to Slovenia. That's $50 in shipping. No thanks I'll just throw this thing in the trash.
