I love how in the background at 7:30 you can see that the Eng vs NZ game was still live implying that its taken Jarrod over 2 months to make this video

13:30 it's really weird how these things happen to Broad. He achieves something great and then something meme worthy. I mean just look at his over to Bumrah. Soon after he gets his his 550th wicket, he bowls an over of 5 short balls out of which 4 were pretty much venomless and 3 were easily dispatched , 2 no balls, 1 full toss. This all despite being one of the best bowlers of this generation.

Errrrm, the fact that England were 47-5 and 102-7 when Broad came in to bat, probably tells you that Pakistan were actually trying, especially as Amir had 6 wickets by that point. Unless you think they got all those wickets by accident. I think we all know how spot-fixing works, and how apart from the no balls, it doesn't really affect anything else. I guess you could argue that the odd ball being a no ball would give you brief respite as a batter, but that's it. It certainly doesn't mean the Pakistan bowlers weren't trying during all the other deliveries.
@sammym43922 жыл бұрын
Jarrod explicitly says that Broad's innings in that game was 'completely legit' and his reason for spending the time he does commenting on it is to point out how it's 'very Stuart Broad' for one of the 'greatest tail-end innings in test match cricket history' to be 'overshadowed almost entirely by something so massive.' His whole point is the fiasco adds to Broad's meme-king status, not that it diminishes the quality of the innings because Amir and co weren't trying.

I still think Jason Gillespie's 200 is a more bizarre and brilliant tail ender innings. Even if he was the night watchman. Stuart Broad in the other hand, he is something else.

I don't actually get what the big deal is with the "Celebrappeal". If a bowler is that sure they've got someone, go ahead. The only thing that might happen is them looking very foolish if it isn't out. Which I presume all the celebrappeal haters would love anyway. In the laws of the game, it is only required for one member of the fielding team to appeal, so if the bowler doesn't want to, and wants to go off celebrating instead, then what's the big problem? I expect it'll be something to do with unwritten rules and respect to the opposition, blah blah blah. Telling someone they're gonna break their arm, or celebrating a little early, hmmmmm it's all the same isn't it. I guess that's cricket for you.

If I went to get a pint and came back and my mate said ‘you’ll never guess what broadys just done’ - then they would be right. Could be 6 wickets in an over. Could have wasted three reviews. Could have gone for 40 runs through a bizarre series of overthrows. Dependably unexpected.

@@kinkkrazy True. I can only see him progress cuz of his willingness to get out in the process of manouvering the game to his needs. He has faced all the top international bowlers courtesy of IPL and has produced stellar perfomances for MI in the last 3-4 years. Remember how he hit Jofra Archer for a six the very first ball of of his international debut ? That tells me a lot about his fearlessness to failure. Many batters i've seen just think of themselves and play conservatively. David Malan and Kl Rahul comes to my mind.

When he started I thought he looked like Draco Malfoy. So what you are saying is that match referee Chris Broad paid several Pakistan bowlers to allow his son to score a hundred? How close was that innings to Broad's birthday??? Hmm ( I did understand you correctly, didn't I?).
@JoshF8482 жыл бұрын
Nah he’s not suggesting that. Only that once you have bowlers on the field who are doing anything other than trying to win the game at any point, it automatically calls into question everything else that is going on. Was it just a couple of no balls, or was there more going on that we don’t know about? Only the people involved would know
