Haha! My friend, there are consequences to our actions. God’s not a genie that we tell to fix a problem that we have created… he is not a “wish granter”. The sad part is that some people actually turn away from God when he does not “grant” their wish. What God really wants is to have a close personal relationship with us. He wants to be part of our daily lives. He wants us to know that he is always with us, seeing what we see, feeling what we feel, hearing our thoughts. He is our heavenly father and wants us to talk to him, to tell him about our fears and frustrations, about our disappointments and sorrows, about our successes. And he wants us to ask him for help when we need it. He wants us to know that he loves us and values us tremendously and he wants us to love him back. He is our Heavenly Father, after all. He wants us to get to know him… and that is actually pretty easy. Jesus said “Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father.” Read the book of John (or any of the other gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke) in the New Testament; it is all about Jesus and the gospel of salvation. But most of all, he wants us to understand and accept the gospel of salvation thru the tremendous sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Good luck in school my friend. Focus, work hard, don’t procrastinate, don’t stop until the job is done… Words to live by.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way. A skeptical mind that has lived without God cannot simply accept him without going the long way round. The long way in this scenario is theological and philosophical truths based not just on the Bible but on logic, reasoning, and physical verifiable evidence. Beyond those who believe, the existence of God is a speculation and until that speculation is understood and transformed as a universal truth, people will continue living as if there is no God at all.

People seem so confused about jesus dying. Its just a body, cursed flesh doesnt last, it dies. Thats what God meant when he said if adam and eve ate the fruit they would surely die. Spirit lives forever. The body is just a shell of the true self. It dies but the real person does not. Death in this world does not mean the end of existing. Life is not about this world. 13:13 God is Eternal Not infinity Infinity relates to physics which is a creation, God is Above Creation and cannot be measured. You cannot truly kill God

I mean, if someone says God is infinite I am not going to disagree with them. Infinite can't be measured either. People struggle with the concept of faith I notice, as have I. Logic cannot always be applied, but people always want to know everything, as if we are even capable. If you start thinking about how the world we perceive is as so as a means for us to survive, meaning our senses are not receptive to all of reality, it really opens your mind. To understand the concept of God is to understand yourself and your limitations, however at the same time feeling as if anything is possible. Or something like that.

Love the "categorical error" objection. @9:00 I would also say this Gentleman is making the "anthropomorphism" error. He says how can God - an infinite being- limit Himself to the finite nature of Christ's earthly ministry as the person of Jesus. As an infinite being (and omnipotent as he correctly states) what prevents Him from doing so? Does a human (limited) understanding and comprehension of the constraints imposed on the human construct of the study of mathematics limit Him? That sir, is anthropomorphism, ascribing human limitations to an infinite being.

@Issxv

@@bonnie43uk I dont want to interupt your conversation. But to address your point, god gave every human free will to think and do what they please. False gods can be more appealing because they preach short-term gratification, things like doing more good deeds to outweigh your bad deeds to feel better about your life, christianity preaches salvation as a gift, compared to something that has to be earned. A way to think about it is that other religions think: I obey so I can be saved, while christianity is based on: I am saved, thus I obey. Pretty much like doing good things to be saved, instead of because they are good things. People want to do what is easy. As is everything in life good things are never easy, same with christianity. God shows himself to people who seek him out, because he gave people free will. He shows himself to those who choose to look. The way a hindu could find god is by seeking him out.

 @bonnie43uk It is truly sad indeed that many people worship false gods. There are many self-professing "Christians" that fall victim to this too. All too often one's beliefs are not determined by the "convincingness" of the belief system and God's making Himself known to us, but instead by the convenience a belief system offers on our part. Many people, Christians, Muslims, and Hindus included, believe what they do simply because of societal norms, cultural identities, and personal convenience. Sadly, many people exchange the truth of God for lies that are convenient for themselves. Lies that allow them to continue to live according to their own desires and not God's calling. Christianity brings us to an often-uncomfortable realization of how short we have fallen of a completely Just, and Holy God, and how we could never become reconciled to Him in our own effort and strength (unlike all other belief systems which are essentially "works-righteousness" systems). Fortunately, God is rich in mercy and longsuffering in that He patiently endures much of our rebellion wishing that all will come to recognize their need for forgiveness, repudiate their old selfish desires, humble themselves in His presence, and turn to Him. Fortunately, when we do this, God is faithful to work in us to accomplish what we could not accomplish on our own. I would also like to add that I believe that all truth is God's truth. When we truly wrestle honestly to uncover the truth, this brings us closer to God and to the realization of the deity of Jesus Christ. Such as the representation of Jesus as Isa (the only sinless prophet in the Qu'ran). At the end, only God sees our hearts motivations. I do believe those who seek the truth honestly and humbly will come to a realization of Jesus Christ, there are many testimonies of this. One of my favorites is that of Dr. Nabeel Qureshi.

In your morning prayers, ask the Lord to provide you with opportunities that very day. Ask that you may recognise those opportunities or windows in a conversation. Then ask for the Holy Spirit to help you in those moments, that you may be honest, sincere, showing love and compassion, whilst being bold in the truth. Ask for all this in the name of Jesus Christ, that it may be done for His Honour and His Glory. Godspeed. Marcus.

@Visualbible7
@Visualbible7 12 күн бұрын
God created people because he desires to have an intimate relationship with us, but he also gave us free will so that people themselves could choose if they want to be in relationship with God or not. He did not wanted to create bunch of robots who would "love" Him, that is not a true relationship. Those people who choose not to participate in relationship with Him, God honors their decision and sends them away to the place where they would not find Him. God warns us that only He is the true resource of love, peace, joy and light, that is why going to the place where there is no God, you will not find love, peace, light and joy. But God will honor the decision of his creation. He would never force anyone to be with Him (it is by the free will of people). So ultimately it is your decision! I hope that make a little more sense❤

I think God stepping into time and space as Jesus is actual proof Christianity is real not a contradiction or paradox. An infinite God, the Father, allowing his begotten Son to step into time and space as a finite human being. I agree an infinite God cannot step into a finite word but that why you must have a timeless begotten (finite) son. Any other religion that says an infinite God acts with a finite world is illogical and therefore incorrect. It's the perfect explanation of the Triune God.

Hey idk if yall have people that run your account or if yall do but if it is one of you, i have a question. Is there any importance on Jesus being a carpenter? Why not a baker or shepard. Why did jesus decide to spend his time on earth shaping and crafting wood? Could it have something to do with knowing the wooden cross was his going to be his end? Was it to show beautiful useful things can be mad from the same material that was used for his death? Or is it just happenstance that Jesus became a carpenter and that itself doesnt hold meaning? I hest people preach and talk about Jesus but ive never really heard about why he chose to be a carpenter, and knowing Jesus theres a reason and a lesson
@mlwilliams4407
@mlwilliams4407 Ай бұрын
Great questions! In first-century Judea, carpentry (tekton in Greek) referred to a craftsman skilled in working with wood, stone, or metal. This trade was practical, humble, and accessible, allowing Jesus to relate to ordinary people. Jesus likely learned the trade from Joseph, His earthly father (Matthew 13:55). This reflects His willingness to embrace humanity fully, including participating in daily labor. As a carpenter, Jesus shaped raw materials into useful and beautiful creations. This parallels His divine role as the Creator who shapes lives and transforms brokenness into purpose (Colossians 1:16-17). The choice of carpentry may hold deeper symbolic meaning. Working with wood foreshadowed His sacrificial death on a wooden cross, transforming an instrument of shame into a symbol of redemption (Galatians 3:13). Carpentry: 1. Reflects humility and servanthood. Jesus worked with His hands and lived among common people, embodying the servant-leadership He preached (Mark 10:45). 2. Involves restoring and building. This mirrors Jesus’ mission to restore humanity to God and build His spiritual kingdom (2 Corinthians 5:17). 3. Creates structures meant to last. Jesus’ teachings and sacrifice laid the foundation for an eternal kingdom (Matthew 7:24-25). While Jesus wasn’t literally a baker or shepherd, He used these roles symbolically: - Bread of Life: Jesus describes Himself as the “bread of life” (John 6:35), nourishing souls. - Good Shepherd: He calls Himself the “Good Shepherd” (John 10:11), guiding and protecting His followers. However, carpentry emphasizes creation, transformation, and connection to His humanity in a tangible way. Nothing in Jesus’ life was accidental. His role as a carpenter aligns with His mission to build, restore, and prepare (John 14:2-3). The choice was likely deliberate, offering both practical preparation and spiritual lessons.

"Religion in itself can be dangerous"-how so? The word "religion" originates from the Latin word "religare," which means "to bind," signifying a relationship or connection. This concern likely arises because "religion" has come to mean "your set of beliefs" and "my set of beliefs." Historically, a significant factor in this division is often attributed to the Protestant Reformation. "Not a whole lot of respect for organized religion"-this sentiment stems from the existence of numerous Christian denominations, many of which disagree with each other. Some point to the Protestant Reformation as a pivotal moment in creating this diversity of beliefs. Regarding the thief on the cross, Jesus, believed to be divine by Christians, would have known who the thief was. The thief's confession aligns with practices upheld by Catholic and Orthodox traditions, which emphasize the sacrament of confession, which was inherited from the early church and documented in the first century, in the Didache. However, certain Protestant denominations do not emphasize confession in the same way. As James 2:26 states, "faith without works is dead." This emphasizes the importance of both faith and action in many Christian teachings. The question raised about understanding biblical context is significant. Many struggle with how to interpret scripture, particularly given the diverse perspectives offered by different denominations. This diversity often leads to further questions about how to discern what is correct. Protestant influence, with its emphasis on "scripture alone" (sola scriptura), often discourages engagement with other historical or theological sources. This contrasts with Catholic and Orthodox traditions, which endorse the use of both sacred scripture and additional historical and theological contexts. Moreover, these traditions include accounts of supernatural events associated with saints throughout the centuries, reinforcing faith and providing integrity to the supernatural and miracle claims of the Bible. While the events of the Bible are outside of living memory, the main objection for non-believers are the claims of miracles and the resurrection. Throughout history, further miracles and supernatural events have been reported, continuing even into modern times. The Catholic Church has been diligent and thorough in evaluating each case, and has no reservations in rejecting claims. However, when a claim has been substantiated based on the evidence and the integrity of the witnesses it has drawn flocks of pilgrims. Among these, the "Miracle of the Sun" witnessed by approximately 70,000 people in Fatima in 1917 stands out as extraordinary. This event, prophesied by three children, was observed by both believers and non-believers and documented by local press at the time. This event remains one of the most well-documented and widely witnessed miracles in modern history, serving as a profound testament to faith for many.

Can someone help me understand. In Acts 5:1-11, the story about Ananias and Sapphira, they lie to the holy spirit, and as a punishment they receive death. Where is the forgiveness and love of God here? When that woman in the gospels was caught in the act of adultery she was not punished with death. Why these two? Is not all sin equal in the eye of God? I don’t get it. Is God trying to set an example or show us what disobeying the holy spirit does?

With Ananias and Saphira, we read about them lying to the Holy Spirit so it is clear that there is no repentance. They were given a chance to tell the truth after the act and they chose to lie and God being Just, took their lives. The adulterous woman, it doesn't say that she repented but I trust that Jesus knew her heart to forgive her.

Also our minds are infinite and are not limited nor can be measured at all, this is something we all obtain as humans, furthermore In Job we learn God is so incomprehensible to the Human mind that we cant just take our understanding and knowledge to then try and define or prove Gods existence anyway. Christ died because he was human and was one of us and this was necessary, however he rose again 3 days later showing that he is God and eternal, John 1:1-In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. and then in John 1:14 -the word was made flesh and dwelt among us.

If he created the laws of physics and math by speaking things to work in existence how they do that’s pretty amazing and we are unable to explain it. Same way we are unable to explain how God would be able to limit himself he is without rules and regulations according to our own understanding.
