I was born in 1942. My father was part of the military changed with rebuilding Hawaii. Starting in 1946 my parents took me to Oahu for each summer for 10 years until the islands were rebuilt for tourism. When I first arrived there were 3 hotels in Waikiki- the Halekulani, the Moana, the Royal. Kalakaua Avenue had such little traffic that my mother could let me run in the street. The only thing I’d like better than being able to go there again, is knowing that you darlings are there. I nominate Rio for the ad campaign to entice other tourists to the happy land of Aloha!
