Oooh! Nice! I like the controls on the carriage. Very slick operation. Quite fascinating watching the chuck as one set of gears disengage and then the next set are engaged. Looks like it does not have synchromesh! ! Nice bit of kit. BobUK.

I had to rewatch it to see what to do. Starting at 3:33 you can see the feed chart. In the top left you can see a drawing representing the gear train for the lathe with one of those gears labeled H. The chart below that drawing shows the metric threads available with the thread pitch shown in the column labeled with a drawing of a thread, the H column shows the gear you need to swap into the H position, and the column marked with a hand shows the gearbox position. For instance AF8 would be the position for 1.5mm pitch with a 48 tooth gear in that position. To change that gear you would have to remove the cover on the end of the headstock and swap out the correct gear into the H position in the gear train. I'd like to point out that 27 threads per inch also requires a gear change with a 64 tooth gear and the gearbox setting at BF7. This is pretty common since most leadscrews are going to be 4 or 8 TPI and 27 isn't a multiple of that. 27 is, however, a common thread to cut since it is used on smaller pipe threads. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

@@StuartdeHaro Thats what i figured i have to cut a 12-1.5 mm and every gear listed on the machine not being used is on a round spool except the 48 so im assuming its in the machine .Also not sure how to put this machine in low gear its an old leblond i believe its a knob that you can pull out or push in inside the cover where the gears are and its in the in position so i think im good there. thanks for quick response

@@ke018co1 Probably so. If you look at the inch feed and threading charts they both list H48 as the gear being used.
