If you attack a castle at its strongest point, expect to get rebuffed quickly. This is exactly the same if you try to hit a direct takedown on a bigger opponent in Wrestling, BJJ or MMA. Here, Team GB Olympic athlete and Wrestling coach of New Wave MMA Academy in London Sidus Eslami gives you details on one way he likes to solve this particular problem when training or competing.

Epic, thanks Sidus. Most interesting was watching at your full speed version, and playing it over and over, noticing extra little differences in practice rather than the exact theory of your slow version. E.g. you put your right hand down on the mat to take your weight, as you grip his leg with your left arm, and swing both knees around behind and to the side of him and simultaneously put them down on the mat rather than right then left. Would I be right in thinking that training it in slow motion using your slow version of right knee first, then left knee, will end up in a better end result when I do it in fast motion?

Thats a good high crotch right there i do it a bit diffrent just cause im pure wrestling and boxing dont train at an mma gym but set up and baiting to the opposite side i do the same and i finish the same way you showed on the video i just postion my hands in a diffrent way but your way is just as effective and ill try it next time live wrestling i tend to use high crotch way more then single leg and the dude is right a high crotch or ankle pick set up is better for taller opponents
