Use wad nails to attach lath. It holds the mesh about 3/16 away from the paper. That way the stucco goes around the mesh, to form a mechanical bond. And use metal screed all along the bottom. It will allow for proper drainage. Without it, the top coat along the lower area will peel off eventually.

Hi Mike. Good video. So you're in Florida now have you witnessed how DR Horton does stucco? I live in a DR Horton development and coming from Indiana, I'm still adapting to the construction techniques down here. The exterior walls are concrete block of course. They do NOT wet them at all when they put the brown coat on and they immediately follow with the texture. The texture guys use a hawk and rake the mix off the hawk with the backside of their trowel and splatter it on the walls. They then knock the texture down with their flat trowel. Within a month it's painted!

The wire lath was not installed correctly you shouldn't run it vertical it would not pass inspection in Florida and you should only nail on the studs and a real Plasterer uses a hawk and trowel and that texture is for unskilled workers who can't lay it down correctly and also if you take that long the do a job yu will never keep up with any kind of schedule but for homeowner doing it your self it will work but this will not pass inspection
