Hello Everyone; just a reminder that if you subscribe to my channel you will see that I have over 75 videos on how to do stucco, from A-Z. Meanwhile today I am trying to convey the importance of proper window flashing, plus I do a stucco finish coat demonstration towards the end of the video

I have watched many of your videos and those of many other plastering contractors. You are the best at texture matching that I have seen on You Tube yet.

Thanks Dave I try hard. I see all you guys out there are doing a great job. Heads-up prices on material is on the rise. I’m not making as much money as I was. Doesn’t affect my ability to do the best I can to match a difficult texture. From Nor-Cal smiles x miles!

Impressive. Looks like the sun was in the perfect location to see the wall and match texture. You'll go down as one of the best ever in this profession.

@@charlottesspot hi. Thank you! This texture is normally called Skip trowel texture, but back in the day we called it “hit it and run” Back in my early days Jerry, who was close to retirement would do this texture all the time on new homes, and us younger guys would do something similar but not like Jerry’s. Jerry’s strokes ended with a downward stroke which were unique, but at first it looked like he had a lazy arm, like it was an automatic move to come back down on the stroke of mud he’d just laid on. I never really cared for it. Something of interest is it’s obvious to tell if the artist was left handed or right handed

Funny in the 70s in LA it was Spanish texture craze, spread with red float heavy no knockdown 16/20 . run n gun rough brown jobs, texture will hide multitudes of sjn they said. Then 80s was light nickel dime knockdown lace was vogue . 90s hard trowel with elastimerical paint. That faded out thank God. SaN Diego's been 20/30 trowel the base and lace forever San Diego smoosh I call it. No real lace to it. more like taco, pancake or enchilada. Now its the baby lace BB shot we call it, hard to not get it too heavy, gotta take a 3 ft stroke and knock it down super fast. Fine as F. Also lots of sand finish jobs now. like the 50s tract homes had. of course that was the hardwall putty coat days too. 70s and on did tons of glue job rescrubs. Weekend gold mines. everyone's a different thumb print. Spread on homey
You will NEVER learn to Plaster until you can do this.
