Stuck! 1986 Torvald Sætre traction bedsize elevators @ Harald Pedersens gate 9, Horten, Norway

Very bad controller. Unacceptable!
After a routine safety-stop test, the right elevator got stuck below the top floor. Failed to reposition.
I managed to escape by opening the door lock by hand, as it was within reach from inside the car.
The floor plan at 06:50 in the video shows a third elevator in the upper right corner, a small passenger elevator. I searched for it but found nothing. It has probably been removed many years ago.

Hi Jan The elevator could not get back in service because the shaft door was open - and i could not close it from outside because the locking pin was out. I informed the staff that the elevator had stuck. MfG Alexander

The roller was above the lift. So he reached up above the door (where there is a wide gap) and opened the door.

@@suprafan246 All lifts should be able to recover from someone pushing the stop button. People push the stop button all the time, it is an everyday thing and the lift should be able to handle that. This one didn't, therefore it is unreliable.

When you break the safety chain (with the stop button for instance) on some generics, it will shut down and make the lift stuck until the car top switch is put into Inspection then in Normal (Or the main breaker turned off then on in the motor room). I know that in France this is made that way as a safety feature to prevent the lift from moving again in case of unauthorized shaft door opening from outside (with a key). In a way it will prevent lift surfing but if the surfer knows about that, this will be pretty useless. Anyways if you had a 9mm socket wrench or pipe wrench or a 9mm triangle key you would have been able to close the door from outside. Maybe you could also (without a key) reach the cartop control panel and flip the switch as mentioned above or maybe get on top of the lift and surf it !

This is just straight up half ass modernization/workmanship if the computer lost position of the car in the shaft from simply pressing the stop button, it could very well also happen from a brownout or 2 second power failure, with a heart attack victim inside. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Modern computer controllers have the potential to be more reliable than anything else but must be installed and programmed correctly, otherwise they have the potential to be less reliable also.
