This legitimately saved my faucet upgrade project! I had 3 of these stupid things stuck like they were holding the earth together. I didn’t have a 3/8 bit but I made a bunch of holes in each one with my 1/4 bit and somehow that freed them up to unscrew off!! Thank you!!!!!

I'm an 85lb Elder & I'm happy to report both methods worked for me. I used your method for the plastic nuts on the toilet, but resorted to the (yes, I had PVC laying around) PVC method for the plastic nuts on the kitchen sink. At the back of the sink with little room, the length of the PVC help immensely with the leverage. And the RIDGID was even to wide to fit, that's how close it was.

Great brute force tip, and pretty much guaranteed success. Another option to try if the tabs are intact, is tapping on them with a flat head screw driver and hammer. Mine would not move at all, but the tapping trick got both of them going so I could finish removing them by hand !

Thank you for this video. Had two plastic nuts that would not budge. Basin wrench broke the fins but didn't get the nuts to turn. Hair dryer and pliers didn't work etc. Got the 3/8" drill bit and said a little prayer and within 20 seconds the first one cracked and popped off. The next one took about 40 seconds and that one was off. Incredible. You saved me hours I am guessing with your simple and common sense method.
