Nothing puts aa smile on your face faster than a quick fix.

Prolong Spray can ! I remember buying Prolong Oil treatment superlubercant and added to oil at every oil change for my daily driver, didn't realize they are not around anymore, but for a brief time the oil treatment bottle came with a free can of the spray version, never used it on my window components but I did get new beltline weatherstrip to help keep water out of the doors

Carpet and door install would be great to watch

Door install is on the way. As is a lower hinge install. I have to say that the new door panels in that car really changed the look of the interior!

I still have some of that lubricant, I always thought it was a pretty good product. Thanks Cam for the commentary 😂.

Some times it's the simple fixes that make all the difference. Looking forward to the quarter window fix. MY 67 Mustang driver's side quarter window won't stay rolled up.
@AutoRestoMod20 күн бұрын
That one may take us a minute to get to because we have other fish to fry in the list. I would really like to see us get the car running before we stop working on it again to move on to other stuff. Quarter Windows might be a sidebar episode.

@@AutoRestoMod That's ok. I can wait.

I think Ford still makes a spray grease for that sort of stuff. Been a while since I bought some. I have a 25 year old can still in captivity. Also works good on garage door springs. Nothing like a good quick fix!

I usually will use a product called Super Lube in the spray can it works exceptionally well on these places

If you have time. Can you please show how to do the same on convertible rear window 67 or 68. Thx for your video content.
@AutoRestoMod20 күн бұрын
We will probably do a sidebar episode on getting the rear windows to work on this car. I do believe that the convertible and the hardtop share a cranking mechanism

What lube did you use for the window mechanism? I didn't see white stuff so I am guessing it was not lithium grease.

Prolong was an oil treatment additive that came with a free spray can for a short period and I had a few of them, worked pretty well

Wow someone trashed that door panel. What were they thinking to not use clips or fix it so it would use clips? Make me wonder what else was kludged up.
@boblill847622 күн бұрын
Kludged up ,I like that term . The previous “mechanic “ using a sheet metal screw for attaching a handle is lazy . I found some nonsense when I emoted my Galaxie door panels to replace the window regulators.
@boblill847622 күн бұрын
“ emoted “ ?? Damn spell check ………..removed 😂

There are ssoooo many Kluges... The Cliffs couldn't be used because of the insulation they put on the backside of the door panel

Should have white lithium grease in the tracks
@AutoRestoMod20 күн бұрын
I fell out with white lithium grease in about 1999 when I saw that a lot of the newer white lithium was just turning to chalk. I now go with a product called Super Lube. We lubricated this with a product to see if lubrication was the issue. Off camera I went with Super Lube in the channels
