resurface the roof -clean, prime, paint on new rubber roof coating. Prevent the leaks before they start. Get some skid wheels for the back of the trailer to keep from dragging bottom on the dips.

Love it and know that it will be clean as a whistle when Angela gets started on it! Love the driving video and the music! The boys must have enjoyed their long ride. I had to laugh but know that it must have been frustrating to get stuck especially late at night. That rock was a big one. Lol I know the four letter words I may have used if it was me. Lol Take care guys, looking forward to the next video!! TFS :)

I being a complete newbie to hitching a camper trailer really appreciated all the time you took to show us . Would like a video on what you looked for in inspecting a used trailer before you bought it . Looking forward to viewing your safety check list on the camper trailer .
@LifeWellLived73 жыл бұрын
Just FYI. Someone may have already explained it, but in case they didn't, what you're referring to as "scissor jacks" on the camper, are only stabilizer jacks. Much like adjustable stabilizer jacks for a vehicle, those on your camper are not for lifting but just stabilizing, so your camper doesn't bounce so much when people are moving around inside or going in and out of the camper. Love the video and we're so happy for ya'll! GOD Bless! ✝️😁👍

check if the trailer axles are still straight and havent moved off there springperch might be adviceable to take two extra trailerwheels along on the trip , you whont be the first to have a blowout or loose a tread along the way , if the trailer has been sitting out in the sun for a while the rubber might not be the best

This took me down memory lane! I use to have an old early 60's Ford Fairlane, in the late 70's, that had electrical issues(got it for 25 bucks). I use to periodically take off the steering wheel, rewrap the wire's individually, then together, with electrical tape, put it back together and drive until I saw sparks again. Usually lasted a week or so, depending on how many turns I had to make. Glad those days are gone!😅😅
@markheatherly29153 жыл бұрын
Sam remember in these kind of situations you can throw block of wood under tires and pull over and it can also be helpful when changing tire on road just pull one axle up on a block of wood and if you find the perfect piece of wood the flat tire be dangling in the air.great job tho and you should invest in wireless backup camera set up you gonna need it soon enough.

I’m so happy that it worked out in the end. Y’all will definitely remember bring home the camper! 😂 Adults need to take a clue from children, sometimes. Notice how unbothered they are during these situations. They know their parents will take care of the problem, while looking after their well-being. If we always remember that God is doing the same for us, it sure does take a lot of stress and frustration out of these situations. No Sam, that doesn’t mean you get to swing on the rope swing in the background while Angela figures it out. 😂😂😂🤣 Praying for continued blessings as you transition to your dream homestead.

Oh the memories of dragging these around UK for twenty plus years with our job . . Yeah , we lived in them on site . Highway construction .after I left the garage workshops . Could be anywhere in the country for our next contracts , do one , move on to the next one . Like gypsies . Everyone thought we were anyway . . Yep , raised on the real rough side of life . Constantly on the move . . Up to the eyes in hard earned dirt , all hands on , no pen pushing for us fellas . leather hands , weather beaten and real down to earth . Happy days . . See you all in the next one guys , keep going , never give up .

That's not a scissor jack it's a stabilizing bar it will not lift the camper it will just stop it from rocking. Just as an FYI for a long time camper stabilizers Don't stabilize the camper near as much as you think they do and anyone moving in the camper will make you see sick while you're laying in bed. There is a brace that goes between the front and back tires of the camper that does stop it from rocking near as bad. It's an accordion style brace kind of reminds me of the old-fashioned mug holders that you could accordion out. Those do work wonders for actually stabilizing the camper. As someone with feral children myself I can tell you you're going to want them.

I would recommend getting another ball for your sway control on the hitch end. A couple years ago my wife and I were driving through Huston and apparently the lovely road construction was too much for the little ball. Thankfully most RV stores carry those. We bought 2. One to replace the one we broke and one spare for the next time we break one. P.s. Having had things jammed under vehicles before (don't ask) I've found the easiest way to get them out is to ramp the tires up getting more clearance on that side. Scrap lumber works well. Once you've got it up you can pull what ever is stuck and then back off the ramp.

Congratulations on your new RV travel trailer! My husband and I have stories to tell pulling our RV 5th wheel trailer and getting into tight places and roads that just ended on us. Frustrations on the journeys make great memories and stories to tell. Especially our grown child will tell stories of our many trips and be laughing about remember what Dad did with the different RV's we owned. Some of the many little Mishaps while traveling and in RV Parks. Why do you ask would we put ourselves through that driving throughout the United States. Because we could and LOVED it! God's Blessings be with you and your family
