Fun fact; this movie actually helped me rescue someone who got trapped in a back yard. I was in middle school when this movie came out, and while I had forgotten most of it within a week of first watching it, the conversation between the brother and sister discussing passwords (and adults just using the default password) had always stuck with me. One day, my mom, sister and I were taking a walk around the neighborhood when a lady asked for help, saying she got locked out of her house and was trapped in the backyard. (A cat had bumped the security bar in their sliding back door, meaning she couldnt open the door from the outside) there was a padlock on the gate on the outside, and the lady said her husband had put it there ad she didnt know the combination. CUE MEMORY OF THIS MOVIE SCENE. I go up to the lock, and on a whim, scroll all the numbers to "0000", and guess what? The lock popped open and the lady could leave to call her husband to get the house key. So yeah! Thanks dcom! Your throw away joke really taught me something useful! (And now I can break and enter into any padlock I want~)

I’ll never understand why movies like this act like if the big bad management drops the huge star then their career is automatically dead. It makes no sense if you’re this famous you can literally pick who you want to work with or not with and it doesn’t automatically make you poor and a “nobody”. I feel like this has been a weird under-discussed trope in a couple of these types of movies.

I've worked in managing venues and bands some very well known. They have ridiculously difficulties with contracts and things but for the most part if they are making everyone money and doing well. Everyone in management will do anything they want, get them anything they need. They are treated very well, given respect and understanding. Generally the mangement or record companies buy them gifts and keep them happy. This trope of them being the bad guy is inaccurate. Bands are blacklisted when they don't perform or they are terrible to work with and the same thing happens to bad managemnt if they don't work well either. So yeah there has to be better conflicts to put in a movie.

Hearing that “Good Life” song again unlocked some memories from elementary school, don’t know why, never even knew this movie existed until now, but apparently the song was being played on the radio in the early 2000’s for some reason 🤷♀️

The original song is by "Thee Getaway People" and it's actually pretty good. It's my favorite song by them. I don't know why it got butchered for this movie though.
