Here I am at at 3am installing this new unit and it’s freezing..then it wouldn’t shut down after an hour of running the furnace. I’m desperate to now get the heat off!! Thankfully I found this and it worked😅 Cheers

I have my thermostat programmed, fresh batteries, correct time, etc. Just had my furnace service so that is fine. The problem is that after 4 PM, the furnace is not coming on....it's currently 61 degrees in my house and I don't even have that temp set for any time of the day or night. When I wake up it is fine, and works all day unti I guess the return cycle at 4 PM, when it's supposed to be 66 degrees. Please help! I called my heating company and they couldn't find anything, so paid $$ for nothing!

How do I make my thermostat manually turn on even if it is already pre-programmed? My thermostat is pre-programmed 280° at sometimes I am home and I want it to be on another temperature and I cannot get it to turn on manually

To put the thermostat into the manual mode just press the HOLD button that tells the thermostat to hold whatever temperature you enter with the up / down arrow. To put the thermostat back in the automatic mode just press the RUN button. I hope this helps, Good luck.

If you are referring to the little metal rods that go into the contacts on the piece that is mounted to the wall then yes you may have to replace the entire thermostat unless you know someone who is an Electronics person who might be able to solder it back on or fabricate a different rod (which is an electrical contact).

My problem is that the screen was blank. I changed the batteries and the screen is still blank. The air handler on the breaker was tripped and I fixed that but the screen on the thermostat is still blank with new batteries

It sounds to me like the LCD crystal display in your unit has either went bad or has a severe connection problem. Under the circumstances I would recommend replacing the thermostat. If the thermostat is still within its warranty you may choose to contact the manufacturer to make a warranty claim.

If your screen is blank it is likely that your batteries are dead.

I would replace your batteries with some good quality batteries like Energizer brand and see if that doesn't fix your problem. Also check your battery contacts and make sure that they are working good and are clean sometimes cleaning them with a pencil eraser or a mild abrasive like sandpaper or Scotch-Brite can help if they're dirty.

This sounds like you have your thermostat programmed to go to a specific temperature (In the automatic mode) and it's just returning there after you program a temperature and release the buttons. If you want to manually set a fixed temperature you need to press the HOLD button and then enter the temperature with the arrows. When the thermostat is in the automatic mode it's going to go to the pre-programmed temperature that is set for that time after any buttons are pushed. It would be good to read the operators manual if you do not have one you should get access to one as this is explained in there. Please keep in mind this is a programmable AUTOMATIC thermostat.

One of the buttons on my honeywell is stuck when you press it. How can I fix it?

Francesca, I haven't went that deep into this thermostat however it would make sense to me that since the little rubberized plastic buttons that come through the hard plastic frame, that there's probably either something that's stuck in there that's preventing them from sliding in and out or the button may have been pushed too deep where it's getting caught under the hard plastic frame. I would try to see if I could wiggle the little rubberized buttons and see if you can get them to pop back out possibly using a toothpick. If there's any crud around the outer portion of the button that's causing it to stay there you might want to use your toothpick and just gently try to remove it but don't use too much force. I'm not certain but you could possibly contact the manufacturer Honeywell using the information in the user manual and see if they could provide any help.

I have looked through my copy of the manual and the quick installation guide and I do not see any procedure for a factory default reset. It would make sense that there is not any such setting because the thermostat needs to be programmed for the type of system that you have and that has specific sub settings such as if you have a single stage heating and cooling, a heat only or cool only system or if you have a heat pump. The customer service phone number listed in the manual for help is [phone] If you do not have access to the manual they should be able to help you get a copy as you are going to need it in order to program the unit properly and not damage your equipment.

It is possible that the processor in your circuit is locked up. What I would do is I would remove all the batteries and let it sit for a little while and then put the batteries back in it. If the batteries are very old or mixed such as alkaline and other kinds I would put a fresh set of batteries in it and make sure all the batteries are of the same type and see if that fixes your problem. If your problem is not resolved by this then it's likely you're going to need to replace the thermostat. A final option would be calling the manufacturer but I have a feeling that if my suggestion doesn't work then they're probably going to tell you the same thing. some manufacturers have special key presses or other diagnostic procedures that they may be able to let you know about but aside from that You may be looking at buying a new thermostat.

At the time I did resolve the matter. Months later the blower motor locked up though so I replaced it. If replacing The batteries doesn't solve your problem you likely will have a bad thermostat unit and will have to replace it.

@@ALASAT1 ....My heat only, nearly four year old Honeywell suddenly doesn't kick on automatically as it has done in the three previous heating seasons. I have to manually increase the temp one or more degrees, press hold and the boiler cycles normally. My house gets nicely warm then clicks off until I feel the chill---and have to go over to the thermostat and manually turn the system on again. It's been dusted and has fresh batteries I bought Friday. Earlier in the summer I might pressed one of the three programming buttons during cleaning....could that have caused it to go into stuck mode?
