Yeah, that struck me, too. The narrator hopefully skipped over the part where she got mental health care. That would make a big difference, if they actually did go through a long period of friendship during which she got help. Otherwise... kinda sounds like a ticking time bomb. Hard to say, not knowing the details, but the switchover from stalker to wife was pretty jarring.

Okay, the guy in the first story. He saves the girl from suicide but is not happy when she tries to be with him. It got so bad he said he "hated her" at one point. I understand he probably felt guilty when he saw her truck wrecked but guilt does not equal "I love her to pieces" or whatever he said at the end. If there had been an attraction there, he would not have continued to respond to her bothering him the way he did. That story is insane. Truly. P.S. If suicide is not tied to mental illness, at the very least it's tied to mental distress. What was going on in her life that caused the mental state where she could attempt suicide and what happens when her mind "goes" again??
