I’m zeroing on tiny moments of craft all over this, like the subtle tension between the video quality and the audio. A video, recorded in the era when this looks like it was recorded, could not have had as good audio as this does. There’s something wrong with it, that hounds you. I’m going to watch through this whole thing now, it’s tense and interesting.

Idk why, but it feels so much more intriguing when the reason that you cant fast travel isnt because of combat. You can easily deal with combat and you'd know at least WHERE whatever's causing that is, mostly because it shows you exactly where whatever's causing it is *on the compass. Having it be an event that doesn't exist, but is barely functional enough to allow it affect the world just makes the question what IS the event? And worse, you dont know where or what it is. All you have is a possible hint to where it is as a random barely functional quest possibly leading to it. That, even when not that scary, is sure as hell far more interesting.
