I think we are but only because that's not that weird. In context of the rest it's creepy, but a lot of 'weak signal' stations will do that in real gameplay. A notable example though I don't remember which fallout exactly but might be the same one is an old Chinese spy radio signal you can pick up within a certain radius around a Chinese spy corpse you get a cool sword from and if you go indoors when in range it cuts out like that- it's not a bonus spook, just a sign this is one of those localized-to-a-radius signals lol

nobody else has said this, so i will. it seems like this ARG is tied in with the UVB-76 buzzer. MY proof for that is when drb0sch tunes into the radio, we can see it says "UVB-68." Which is very similar to the name of the UVB-76. Not long after, we can hear the signature "buzzing" noise from UVB-76. for those who don't know what UVB-76/ the buzzer is, it's a Russian radio station that makes this buzzing noises. There are a lot of theories behind it, but nothing is known.

When you go to the radio , it sounds like either screaming or military chatter. strange? New observation, it sounded like someone saying “that’s right I’m the poet” or something similar idk, but it’s a bunch of different things like police chatter to swing music to like 2 guys talking to each other “SH SH COME TO ME”

i swear i heard "air force one" somewhere in there, im leaning toward military broadcast, then again it sounds like a mix. Some of it seems military, some seems comercial, while others seem almost News-like. its weird Also, the name is interesting. UVB-68. From the buzzing sound in the radio, its obviously a refrence to UVB-76, aka the buzzer. a russian broadcast (thats still being sent today)

And most of this area could’ve been used at one time for another area to explore like the main area we have. Could’ve been more NCR Settlers, Prospectors, Gangs, Pre War Tech, Creatures, Locations, Quests, etc. People pushing in from the Hub and what not. The fact that Fallout didn’t have the loadable locations similar to how S.T.A.L.K.E.R is, is a wasted opportunity. Mojave could’ve been similar to The Capital Wasteland with how expansive the main map is. And since the The Capital is known as the “Carnival” of Fallout this area would’ve made The Mojave much more sinister, deadly, and mysterious. This would’ve been F1, F2, F3.

This is literally like maybe 2% related to this comment but I like to share and you mentioned the first 2 games, but I would KILL for some kind of re-release of those games in more modern engines, hell even just a fan project made in the fnv engine or something, whatever as long as it's truly faithful to the original. I have aphantasia which is fine for some but frustrating as fuck for me to the point I got into gaming not for actual gameplay but as a replacement for reading with the visuals built in for me and the first 2 games are great im sure but there's not *enough* visuals for it to scratch that itch for me, I wanna see it all play out as it were yknow? 😂

There were definitely some plans to use some of this space it just was such a quickly-made game, for the scope it had, that they ended up making the final game have a lot more invisible walls and stuff. There are even areas out of bounds that have sound spaces set for where they would be and sometimes a bit more detail, more rocks etc.

@@DonnyKirkMusickinda related but there’s a lot of Bethesda haters out there saying they are to blame for the rushed dev time, but it was actually Oblivion themselves that wanted the fast time, which was 18 months iirc. In a later interview, they (I forgot who specifically) admitted that as a whole, they got overconfident & bit off more than they could chew. On another note, if Xbox & PlayStation weren’t as strict about limited updates compared to now, I’m sure we would’ve seen some continued updates to add cut content to the game.

I personally think the different broadcasts were due to the bombs going off when they were being used, so the energy from said bombs caused this said radio or maybe all radios/broadcast to be picked up on or all merged together, since most of the bombs went to that location. This includes TV shows as well, it would be shut down in some areas to a certain degree but some locations for broadcasts would have things still be functional like backup gens with Nuclear and Solar Energy potentially. This would allow for some stations and places that air TV just all around would still be there for the military to use etc. Like with the numbers station from 3 when you kill Three Dog, and what I’ve noticed is that Three Dog couldn’t get rid of the numbers playing so instead he used his talking segments to cover the numbers and ran back the songs to hide said numbers from playing, because they were useless and based upon what the US be4 which lead to the way they live. And the number station wasn’t right about a lot but it was right about Gary Coleman and how he would be missed but not cared about. And Coleman would exist in Fallout timeline and it would much of the same to a certain degree, and the person that told Coleman he would be missed would be similar to Vault Tec. A person giving the illusion of safety,security,superiority, while taking money/whatever from him blind like his parents/whoever did and treating him like a kid. And the US Gov/Vault Tec did that on a mass level to most humans in Fallout .
