1:08 Hi Stu, I have some newbie questions, so pardon me. What is the gadget you are using here and what is the thing that you put into the wall to attach the wall tie? A screw?

Good honest work there mate, hand mixing is no easy job. I got a 4'x4' piece of hardboard which I use to make things cleaning up easier. It's cheap enough and easy to transport in the van.

cheers mate yeah i said to the customer about putting a board down but because it was all being knocked down and an extension on the side he wasn't bothered about the mess

what are those things you screwed into the sides for? I'm guessing to increase structural integrity? How many feet before you have to install another set?

Any 'tricks' for filling the top-most 'gap' that will be between the 'top course' and the existing framing? In other words- how best to squeeze that grout to the center line of the brick? I have always wondered how that problem is best solved... Thanks.

I know it's random, I'm looking at having a window taken out the same size and blocked up with bricks I already have, what's the rough price for this work.

Nice video. I am building a W24'xD12'xH8' breeze block shed (6") and I am not a builder, Just doing it myself. I am putting in about 5 hrs everyday and I can't get faster then 12 blocks a day (no help but my work is top quality because I am perfectionist which is not letting me go fast). Any advice on how I can get going fast and I am using 4:1 for mortar, is that ok or should I go to 3:1? Thanks in advance.
@Stucrompton1
@Stucrompton1 8 жыл бұрын
+boneyblade when I'm doing repair jobs I always make it stronger 3:1 you don't have to its personal preference. Speed just comes with time mate same with anything else the more you do it the more it becomes second nature.

Thanks for your reply. I made a pillar for door by putting 6" breeze blocks flat on top of each other. Now the wall from the sides have to join the pillar. Do I just join the wall to pillar or do I have to use something in between. I would greatly appreciate if you can share a link from any website about what to use if I have to use something. Thanks.

Stu I need to block off a small bathroom window which is on the first floor :( - Does the brickwork have to be "toothed" - This will be bricks and not blocks. Cheers mate
