Hope all is well Stu. I am curious as to why you do not have full head jonts out to the face of brick? Maybe less angle when throwing head joint or double butter to fill gap as laying. This way you have no need to tool/joint up the brick with a trowel full of mortar. I will say your work is very clean and smooth. Love the channel and content too.

Beautiful professionally done work.. The goldilocks zone for laying brick or block is between the groin and 6 inches above the bellybutton...Bending and reaching makes laying CMU's brutal at the end of the day...Respect to you mason's from a contractor that's layed a few thousand... Carpentry is a lot easier...:) To the original point; I was wondering if Pump jacks ( I've used them on siding or stucco work) would work with brick and block laying...Beef up the planks to hold materials and you could stay in the "goldilocks zone" all day...But you need picks long enough to span the wall...And Erecting support poles...

if you pump insulation between the brick and block afterwards, how will you maintain an airgap between the brick and insulation? I thought that was very important

building regs allow 50mm of kingspan or 100mm of rock wool

Hi mate sorry to ask but never worked on site only smaller jobs, what are you using the profile for with the clamps on the soldier course? Great work thanks for sharing
@cwinter845 жыл бұрын
I believe, similar to a level, the aluminum brace is used to keep the soldier course level and plumb with the rest of the wall until the mortar starts to set. Whenever I lay a soldier course, it has a tendency to want to tip one way or the other. That brace would support the soldier course until the mortar has set off enough to use a jointer on.
