How are you guys liking the underwater footage? I want to drop a GoPro down at all of my offshore spots to learn what the bottom actually looks like and what species are really down there. I'm also working on a rig to keep the GoPro stable while on the bottom

I think it’s a win win because you find out if there’s big fish and see the bottom so it saves time and I also like seeing it so I think it’s good

Love the underwater stuff! That noise you're hearing is barnacles and coral going off. Our guide in Mexico will use that sound to locate the reefs we dive on, by putting his ear on the bottom of the boat...

Another great video man. Keep up the hard work! That's sick to catch that redfish offshore! Cool seeing the snook on the reef too. Threw my gopro into a wreck that was 20 miles out 55ft deep and saw snook down there chilling with the Goliaths haha. I think that sound you're hearing is your trolling motor repositioning to stay anchored.

They’re definitely curious about it. I’ve heard that gag grouper really don’t like it and will often leave the spot completely

My thoughts. It’s the reef rocks. We would take out the aluminum boat off the beach looking for live bottom. It sounded like popcorn popping through the hull. Great fishing without a depth finder.

The sound is always there at this particular reef. I can never figure out what it is... When freediving over there I hear it a lot and it always freaks me out like my phone is in my pocket. I do usually spot a Goliath after hearing it so I'm not sure if it has something to do with them hiding under a pile or a eel or what.

Didn't really see any grouper on the gopro footage. Maybe what ate your pinfish and broke the hook wasn't a grouper but maybe a big snook?

I was thinking that too after going through the underwater footage. We did catch some small gags, but nothing bigger than like 14”

What kind of set up do you use to drop your Go Pro Down and keep it horizontal?

I literally just tie my fishing line to the gopro underwater case and then tie an egg weight to the tag end to help it stay down and mostly upright. I'm working on making a rig that'll really make the footage more stable

I caught a yellow tail almost the same size in 3 feet of water along a rock jetty in Aruba.. where do they normally go?

They’re all over the place in tropical waters around the Caribbean, Atlantic, and Gulf, but around Tampa they’re usually found further offshore than just 3 miles. I rarely catch them at all on my boat because I rarely go further than 20 miles offshore, but recently they’ve been showing up much shallower

Hudson has seawall snapper. I drove there. Stood on the seawall for like 25/30 minutes and caught three fat snappers. 15.5, 16, 16 inch. I only had 4 baits so next time I go I will bring more baits.

But then I went out Saturday without any cameras and we caught keeper red grouper and what would’ve been a couple keeper gags. It’s the camera curse I swear 😂
