It looks like they would impede cooling?

That has crossed my mind, and I don't know the answer. I'm assuming the coolant is running down the center of the heat exchanger. If that's true, then the extra aluminum might act like a bigger heat sink. Or, maybe it does impede cooling, but not enough to notice. I don't know, that's a very interesting point.

Just seems like newer artic cats over heat pretty quick on hard pack or low snow. Had to add ice catchers on my 2 cats
