Omg!! How much more can our lives be relatable Paige! I travel to office in train two days a week. I try to cram in study days. I went for the Barbie movie by myself cos I am a young professional living alone just like you. Especially the last one minute of the video....felt like it was me talking 😂. I was feeling sad about that but... Not anymore 😅😅😅😊.

Your videos are so relatable and inspiring Paige! I really like how you don't shy away from weakness/failure/setback. So many other youtubers focus on highlights and their best bits, but it alienates them from "ordinary" folk like us 😁 You got these next set of exams in the bag! Also you need to invest in some wear-over waterproof trousers, game changer for cycling!

"If I was marking my paper I would have passed me" 😂👏👍. Great outfits from LilySilk and versatile too. The intro line ''corporate girly inspo look at me go'' is a catchy tagline.

I really appreciate you vlogging these sorts of weeks. I’m also a fairly recent grad living in what was my uni city, and definitely relate to the feeling of inevitably drifting from friends. I often spend weekends alone, and like you, I know I need a lot of alone time and enjoy my own company, but it’s still okay to feel lonely sometimes. I also saw the barbie movie on my own, too! I was going to see it with some work colleagues a couple of weeks after it came out, but I wanted to find out what all the hype was about so went on its first weekend by myself. It’s sometimes hard to not feel like people are judging you, even when they’re probably not even paying any attention. Thanks again for sharing this, judging by the comments, lots of other people can relate too 😊

Nice honest discussion about real stuff at the end. I agree with your view on the whole drinking & partying stuff. Nice to know others also don't find it that appealing too.

Hello Paige (from Singapore again!). I'm 34 this year and I certainly understand that feeling of drifting away from friends after university graduation. I've been to a few MCU movies by myself and having to study a masters degree on the side while I worked full time doesn't leave me much time to make plans and hang out with friends (I believe it's the same for you!). I guess I just began to feel a lot more comfortable having myself as my own company, meeting acquaintances along the way (on events I attend myself - even though it is somewhat out of my comfort zone) and learning something new about myself each time I meet someone new. Then when I was living my best life, bang! Someone special comes along the way and another phase of life kicks in. The message I'm trying to convey is that being alone is not necessarily bad and can really bring in plenty of new life experiences because one is not bound by the obligation to compromise with someone else. Enjoy it while you can! And I must admit, if you like a really good storyline, Oppenheimer came to mind. I don't necessarily feel invested in the characters, but I was certainly very drawn to the story. I held my bladder throughout the three hours I was in the theatres!

I also got a silk pillow case to help with my hair damage. It was hard to get used to it being so "slippery"😅😅 my pillow always needs to be at the end of the bed for some support or otherwise it slips away.

As someone in my early 30s, it felt as if every year that went by I would drift away from a few more friends. It definitely takes a conscious effort as you get older! But it’s worth it to meet new people and make new friends with common interests ❤

When you feel alone remember there’s always someone you already know or in your future who wishes they were there for you in tough times. Plus, you’ll meet people and make more friends in the future who will make all the struggles worth it. Just trust :)

I can't believe you've never been to the Arts Cinema! The trick for going to the cinema/theatre by yourself is to take a notebook and jot notes in it occasionally. People will assume you're a critic/reviewer working. About 21:30 onwards: loads of us feel like that. Talking to people after lockdown makes me think a lot more people enjoyed not having to party than admit it. The trick for me was to realise the difference between being alone and being lonely and not letting society make me feel guilty for spending time on my own.

Haven’t seen Barbie or Oppenheimer. Across the Spiderverse was good though. I’d recommend The Fantastic Mr Feynman documentary if you wanna hear about the Manhattan project from his perspective. It’s not as heavy as Oppenheimer. - it’s still kinda heavy though obviously… okay maybe it’s a bit heavier than oppenheimer. But at least it has good moments too and not centred around the a bomb

Work tip from an oldster, fwiw: Stash a change of clothes at the office, at some point you'll need them. Something serviceable, but not especially dear. Putting them in a small gym bag w/ your name on it lessens the chance of getting tossed out by the cleaners.

Hi Paige I’m currently waiting for my a level results and I studied maths bio and chem. I applied to uni but for a science course and now Im finding out that I actually enjoy business and actuary more. And im not sure what to do, is it better to change the uni course or do an apprenticeship to become an actuary. What would u do if u were in my position? Thank you
@Brookdale731
@Brookdale731 Жыл бұрын
Apply for the apprenticeships you can always defer uni for a year and chase the actuary/business option if it doesn’t work out you can go to uni the year after. I’m a secondary teacher and I have had loads of students do this most of them that find the apprenticeship they want - go that route and don’t need the back up option.
@PaigeY
@PaigeY Жыл бұрын
Tricky! The exam exemptions are definitely worth going down the apprenticeship or actuarial degree route if you’re set on it. But on the flip side I think science courses are more exciting degrees and you can still become an actuary after. I think I’d look into actuarial science degrees available in ucas clearing if I were you 🙂
