Hey! Is the CCD beginner friendly? I completed the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate on Coursera recently, and I wanted to start studying for a DFIR-specific certification. Would I be able to jump from the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate to the CCD, or are there more beginner-level training I should take before I jump over to CCD (such as TryHackMe SOC Analyst 1)?

CCD can be a bit advanced from the get-go. If you want to play it safe, yeah THM is a good place to start!

@ thanks! I just realized that you have a course as well haha I’ll look at your website and see if I want to go the route of taking your course :) In any case, thanks for not gatekeeping and being a good example for people trying to get into DFIR, it’s MUCH appreciated!

Of course! We need more experienced folks :) if you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

I'm midway of finishing up the google cybersecurity cert. Which one of these is a good starting place to supplement my studies?
@MyDFIR16 сағат бұрын
Assuming the goal is to become a SOC analyst - TryHackMe, LetsDefend or TCM PJSA is a good start. If you’re looking into something more advanced down the road, CyberDefenders or my course would suffice. For advanced practical labs, Xintra would be the one I would tackle along with CyberDefenders.

Thank you for this video, which of these would be best for someone who just got their Sec+ and wants to move to the next step

Depends on what domain you want to go into!

Also could u put the pricing according to places from where people live from like someone from usa or other high income place might be able to easily afford your course but me being from india or someone from africa could not

At what point would someone be ready to tackle Xintra labs/training? Say someone that just finished your SOC course? It looks tough but interesting
@MyDFIR2 күн бұрын
Id say when someone has some experience with investigations. Id say if you took my course or CCD or TCM PJSA, and spend a couple months diving into DFIR, you’ll be ready to tackle them

Steven do you think PJSA is equal to CCD?

Thanks for the video. it's very informative. However, one of the challenges I face is information overload. I am prepping for the Security + certification at the moment and I have 3 questions. 1) As someone trying to pivot into cybersecurity, which one of these platforms will you generally recommend that will give me the most opportunity of getting relevant experience for the SOC job market? 2) Will taking your course also be equivalent to taking one on any of these platforms? 3) why don't you have student discount for your course?
@MyDFIR2 күн бұрын
Great questions and it really boils down to your learning style however I think TryHackMe is pretty good as a start and CyberDefenders/LetsDefend/BTLO for hands on training that is more tailored for blue team. Yes my course would be equivalent to some of these platforms. For example, CCD, BTLO1 and TCM SOC course. As for student discount for my course, this may come in the near future.
