Hi! Thank you for watching! In my case I bought it myself, but sometimes the dorm has some leftovers rack from the previous resident which you can use. You can try asking the officer in the dorm! Sorry for the late reply, I didn't see your comment!

I'm not a GKS student, but as far as I know, you can visit your homeland during vacation, but they will cut some of your allowance.

I think it depends on which university and which major you're applying to. But, most universities do provide Korean language school, so you can take them if you want (ofc there's extra fee tho). Alternatively, you can also take free Korean lesson provided by the government, called KIIP (Korea Immigration and Integration Program).

But, if you're a GKS student for Undergraduate or Graduate Program (Global Korea Scholarship, formerly known as KGSP). It is mandatory for you to take 1 year Korean class before you start your study. (Funded by the Korean Government)

For active study period (active semester). It's 530,000 Won/Semester. 1 Semester here refers to 4 months. For the vacation months (2 months), it's 400,000 Won (For 2 months).

Are there any rules for living in the dormitory? I've heard most university dorms in Korea have curfews and they don't allow guests in the dorms, etc. Asking because I want to apply to Dongseo Uni next year!

There's no curfew, dorm is open 24 hours. For guests, I think it's okay if they only spend some time but not stay overnight in the dorm. Sometimes the dorm staff may ask about who and what are they doing there though.

Hello! I didn't apply for GKS, I got scholarship from the university. For dormitory fee, as far as I know, it's free for PhD Students and GKS students who applied to Dongseo.

Yes, there's a gym in the other dorm building. The gym is available for all student, although you have to pay to use it. The gym was closed for some time due to the pandemic, but I think it's open now.

Yes, there is convenience store at the campus, but it's currently closed due to the pandemic. But there are convenience stores around the dorm too, it's like 3 minutes walk and they're open 24 hours.

Hello, thank you for watching! Glad you find this video useful. Yes, it's quite easy to find convenience stores and shopping centers around here, there are many options nearby. For the courses, as I'm a graduate student, I don't know if I can compare it with the undergraduate ones. For graduate student we focus more on research, so we don't take many courses actually compared to undergraduates. The courses are taught in English, and I believe it's also the case for undergraduates as well. For English proficiency tests I would suggest getting an IELTS maybe, as it's well accepted internationally in my opinion.
