I study in a university where I have experienced these issues very closely, I have seen how these political party fight for the new comers to bring them under their bidhyarthi sangh. I understand it's completely ones choice to be a part of it or not, but influence is real.They fight with each other once or twice in year with someone leading to challenging injuries, the main thing is students lose somehow feeling of friendship with the student belonging to some other party ,teachers biasedness which doesn't create good environment for quality education.

It is too early to judge the new elects !! You should remember the fact that lady like Nani Maiya won the election during the Panchayat but they vanished with time. So, they are leading bhanna aaile nai ali hatar huncha ki, let us see after few years. I agree with you that re-branding student politics is very necessary but unlike you, I believe that for one to lead, to become a leader.. s/he must have known what political struggle means so I do not believe in the new leaders you've mentioned.
