Student of the Year 2023/24 Linguist (Cantonese) Finalist Video

Organised by the South China Morning Post, solely sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club, and supported by the Education Bureau, the #StudentoftheYear Awards is Hong Kong’s most prestigious secondary school event of the year. As such, the awards attracted entries from schools across the city, and the overall standard was once again impressively high.
Linguist award goes to three students from Form Four to Six (Year 10 to 12) in separate categories for English, Cantonese, and Putonghua. The winners of this category should demonstrate a high level of proficiency in their relevant language. The judges look for precision and originality in the use of this language, whether that is in writing short stories or speeches, or in debates. The winners must also have shown the power of language by demonstrating their ability to influence or inspire in a positive way.
