I'm a first year resource teacher now! I love my job. Having a homeroom class was always what I thought I would do, but teaching kids with learning disabilities is such a good fit for me. I'd recommend any teachers in training consider it!

Absolutely love this! I should be starting my first year of student teaching in August and am fully prepared for what that may bring. I am a 3rd year almost fourth year college student as well. I look forward to following the rest of your journey and if you continue this when you teach

My mentor teacher is resource, and she has a fantastic schedule! Many of the other resource and SPED teachers at my school definitely don't get as many breaks

Yay, congrats! It's a crazy adventure. Always keep an open mind! You may be set on what sort of classroom or what grade you want to be in, but you never know. You can learn from every teacher (good or sucky) and every age group of student. Don't stress too much, shake off mistakes, and don't be embarrassed to ask a ton of questions or not know what you're doing. Everyone starts somewhere. :)
