If U of Winnipeg is to support academic freedom (it's part of its mission), it must not violate the academic right of academics. These people are welcome to protest, but their attempts to cancel the event is disgusting and an illustration of their narcissism to believe academic talks are not allowed to happen because it hurts their feelings. This wasn't just a random person, it was a faculty member giving the talk.

What's the difference between a child hiding under their blankets from the bogeyman and a grown up cringing, cowering, consenting and complying behind a mask (or two) from the bogeyvirus? Absolutely nothing except that the adult should know better. Especially after all this time.
