for the top shelves, just move the plant through the other side. You can use little paintings (or your sketch books) for your middle shelves, this way the emptiness will not bother you.

I can't exactly THANK you for reminding me how messed up my studio space is, but there is some inspiration to crack on and get it done here. Can relate to the desire for the bins in all the same color, I have a mishmash of old and thrifted shelves and a beast of an old school flat file to deal with. Your space looks good, and seems like it will be very functional. :)

I heard that iconic imovie sound effect of children screaming "yayy!!" when u finished organizing the shelves. as long as you dont start swinging from the shelves like tarzan they should be fine with the paper on them lol (maybe another rail or 2 to put the shelf brackets on to support the weight if you are really concerned about it or its starts to buckle)
