Your videos are pathetically good. Can't believe you're giving all this for free. I've said it before but our associate professor in audio school even recommended some of your videos for some concepts we're figuring out.

I'm mostly excited to try out some of the new plugins which are finally included in the package like a de-esser and what looks like a pretty cool vocoder. I also love the icons you can add to tracks now. It'll take me a while to go over all the new stuff but I love it already

Clear and concise overview as usual. Thank you.

For me the most important is dynamics overview in mixer section similar to pro tools. This makes it easier for people like me, electronic music producer life much simple - if you mix to a kick drum you know what I mean :)
@buckycore2 жыл бұрын
Studio one is all about that chord track and create notes function! But these new plugins are dope. A dynamic EQ! and I love that lyric thing

I'm still using Protools 11 for my audio production. Have been thinking about changing to Presonus, but haven't pulled that pin yet.
@AudioUniversity2 жыл бұрын
Nice! I used Pro Tools 10 and 11 in college. Presonus has a similar workflow, but more intuitive (naturally, as it’s several years newer). I think you’ll pick up on it pretty easily, coming from PT.

@@AudioUniversity I've been with Protools since Protools 4. (Yup. I'm old). I'm a bit pot-committed to it... (poker term) however, I never went with Protools 12 because of the subscription model which, for this type of software, I'm not a fan of (I pay the same for the ENTIRE Adobe suite as Avid wants for JUST ProTools. No thank you.). PreSonus (SO6) seems like good software, but I'm a bit apprehensive about changing my entire workflow... since ProTools 11 is bought and paid for and (despite a lack of upgrade path) it does everything I need it to.

Can you use 2 separate LCD monitors to have the mixer on one and the recording screen on the other?

A well-paced, and not overhyped review. One minor comment: thanks for calling it a D-A-W rather than the ugly "daw" we hear so much. I'm very interested in S1 now.

I've found guitar pro good for learning songs as it supports lyrics, sheet music notation and a backing track. It's not great but better that the DAW's I tried. For recording and editing, I use Reaper. There never seems to be much love for drummers.

I have used Studio One for years and this is a fantastic video. Just knowing that they have added new features for video is enough to sway me to buy (or subscribe to) Version 6. I use S1 4.6 Pro, the last version before the jump to 5 and "Sphere." While Studio One will never replace Pro Tools, due to falling behind with Dolby Atmos support and having horrendous panning controls, among other things, this is most assuredly an improvement.
