Since I didn't notice anyone mentioning it when I skimmed through the comments, a handy tip I found when doing extensive audio bending in Studio One is to use the shift key. It causes a temporary toggling on (or off) of the snap. So if I have snaps turned off, I can click to add a bend marker, hold it, then press shift to cause it to start snapping so I can drop it in on the beat. Release shift and it stops snapping again, so I can accurately place then next bend marker. This also works in reverse, if you have snaps on, so you can just hold shift to temporarily disable the snaps. It definitely speeds up the workflow for me when aligning notes and consonants with my little virtual choir projects. :)

Great video. Incredibly informative. You should do a Tempo Mapping video as well as a follow up to this one.

Mate, as a Studio One user and playing in a band that uses backing tracks with variable tempo's, you my friend are a godsend. I have been struggling for quite a while to find a half decent solution to the problem. You've just provided it. I feel a Patreon membership coming on.

Great video. It really nicely answers Rick Beato’s video about how computers ruined music...this shows how you can keep the human element in your music even with virtual instruments. Can’t wait to try it out!

Nothing ruined music. Just what you want it ruined. Listen for classical or jazz. peace 🙂

I didn’t even know that was possible. It would have been so useful to me 25 years ago when the studio engineer told my band and I that a tempo slow down at the end of a song was not feasible due to metronome issues. Great video!
@DoctorMcFarlandStudios3 жыл бұрын
That engineer didn’t know he could just turn off the click at the end of the song.

Cheers Mike - another great tutorial - every time I watch one of your videos, the amount of functionality I think I know how to use in S1 drops by another few percentage points, I think I'll soon by in minus figures! Who was it said: 'the more I learn, the less I know'. ;-) Keep up the great work

Thanks for the info. Very clear. Don't forget if you played a funky guitar rhythm with plenty of transients you can simply hit Q (or Alt Q for 50%) and S1 creates the bend markers and quantizes your audio track to the click. Really useful if you're trying to sound like Nile Rodgers.
