The wiring and patching.. God bless. What a setup. I remember seeing Mr. Rosen's name on receipts when I worked at Leo's Pro Audio in Oakland. Glad he's still rocking in the Bay!

Loved hearing him geek out about his wiring! I wish I had a fraction of the cable management and organization that he does 😂

Loved getting to chat with Michael and take a tour of his studio! Who did you work with at East Bay Recorders?

Outstanding interview and tour, thanks! I was fortunate enough to record with my old band at Michael's previous location on San Pablo Ave 10 years ago. It was an awesome time, he was so good at it and so inspiring with how he directed the sessions, the stories he would tell, and just how simple he made it for us. A few familiar looking items in his new studio I recognize from back then. He really deserves this kind of space. As a budding recording engineer myself, recording at the San Pablo place helped me to realize that even in a pretty humble little location you can still get great results if you have the know-how. He had also given me a few recommendations of things to try on my own sessions. One of his suggestions was to use D112s on the toms, and sure enough that's what he's got on his studio kit here.

Thanks for the kind words and checking out the video! It was such a pleasure working with Michael on this video - he was so generous with his time and the man is not only a great engineer and producer, but an incredible story teller!

Also love that he practices what he preaches! Still standing behind the D112s for the toms is killer 🤘

I like his studio approach. Im planning my new setup in my garage doing it proper room within a room and whatnot and this studio is similar

Me too! I love the idea of leaning into what some might consider shortcomings of the space (bleed) and using that to help glue the track together. I’m hoping to put together a space as well at some point! All the best with your build!
