How to Play Hotel California (easy)
In this guitar lesson, we teach you how to play Hotel California by the Eagles on guitar.
The song Hotel California is a classic song that is very recognizable and a lot of fun to play on guitar. In this guitar lesson, we teach how to play this song using beginner guitar chords and a beginner strumming pattern. Even though this is an easy version of Hotel California, it still contains some trickier guitar chords if you are a beginner, but we will also show you some easier versions of those chords.
The guitar chords you will use in Hotel California are A min, E Maj, G Maj, D Maj, D min C Maj and F Maj. Most of these are easy beginner chords, but a couple are a little more difficult to play (especially for the beginner guitar player), so we will also show you some alternative ways to play these chords.
If you are trying to learn how to play Hotel California on guitar, you don't want to miss this guitar lesson.

Hi Kevin, thank you very much. Yes m happy to hear you found the videos helpful. Learning an instrument is harder as we get older, but you can do it. You’ll find it’s an uphill battle for the first few months especially; your hands aren’t going to do what you want them to. But don’t give up! Keep going and eventually it will all click and come together! I’m happy to help with questions along the way!

Nice! Wish I had stumbled onto your channel 2 years ago when I first attempted this song. Kind of have it down pretty good after a while trying to “finger” it out. Only real difference to your lesson is my preference of E7 to Emaj. I think it adds character to the unresolved chord shapes (start on Am and finish on E or E7). Lovely clear lesson, though.
