@studio55 great skills! Can you make another tutorial with markers showing the neutral positions of the throttle and steering? Will be very helpful for beginners like me learning how to drift with wltoys cars.
@studio55_jp4 жыл бұрын
It's very difficult to create the tutorial you want. I can't come up with a good idea to make the throttle movement easier to understand than this video. Also, I think it's easy to understand the amount of steering movement by looking at the spokes on the steering wheel. In the first place, the amount of movement is not something you can see and remember. You will develop a sense by practicing repeatedly.
@polysheep4 жыл бұрын
@@studio55_jp Thanks for the reply. May i ask why there is a need to keep "pumping" the throttle? For example, isn't it easier to maintain a donut by keeping the throttle constant while just adjusting the steering?
@studio55_jp4 жыл бұрын
@@polysheep Before answering your question, I want to ask you the same question. Can you keep a donut of the same size while keeping a constant throttle?
@polysheep4 жыл бұрын
@@studio55_jp I'm doing that on my k969., hence i'm confused why another taiwanese youtuber also advocates pumping the throttle.
@studio55_jp4 жыл бұрын
@@polysheep Ideally, you can maintain the donut with a constant throttle. However, the road surface condition is not always constant, and the grip force changes. Therefore, it is necessary to fine-tune the throttle. I'm not "pumping" the throttle, I'm "adjusting" it to the road conditions. Donut turn is an exercise to get a sense of the throttle adjustment.

Great video dude! I have a WLtoys 284161 and it is an awesome buggy however there is something I noticed about it. Whenever I turn the wheel full throttle and not, it tends to cut 20% of its power from the motor. Is that normal since this is my first hobby grade RC. Whenever I go full throttle, it has no issues at all but when I turn the wheel the motor tends to cut some of its power. Is this a transmitter issue or just a feature of the RC itself? The 284161 I have has the same transmitter as the 284131 and 284010 (at least I think with the 010 model.) It would be great to know if this is a problem or not, a feature or some side effect. I have been trying to trim down the speed for the younger siblings to play it but in the end it doesn't want to move whenever they hit the throttle then steer to the left or right.
@studio55_jp11 ай бұрын
Thanks. I do not own a 284161 so I do not know the details. The EPA setting on the transmitter is fine, correct? If turning the steering wheel causes a loss of power, there may be some resistance in the drivetrain. For example, the drive shaft (dog bone), arm, etc. may be interfering somewhere when the handle is turned too far.
@DOM1N4TOR_FR34K11 ай бұрын
@@studio55_jp I see, thank you for that. If your k989 doesn't experience any throttle loss when turning while on power it means that mine might be binding. I will try to clear the places that needs to be cleaned and see if it will improve anything. This is my first RC build honestly and i would like to know what causes the binding. Whenever I do throttle slightly the car does struggle to start even with half the throttle trim. It stops running when I turn the wheel with it as well. I appreciate the insight
@DOM1N4TOR_FR34K11 ай бұрын
@@studio55_jp the EPA is at full. I can hear the motor turning but the wheel is not spinning when applying 20% throttle while the trim for the speed is at full so it might actually be the bond. It gets worse when I turn the wheel. I tried removing the wheels and it still struggles to run even off the floor and just on some platform. It would be useful if I know what to trim or fix cause I am not expert on RCs by any means.

Hi, when I remove the suspension spacer, my chassis plate is touching the ground. (Maybe because I have the 284131 model). How far is your bottom plate from the ground? I'll try to print smaller spacer, but definitely cannot remove them entirely...
@studio55_jp Жыл бұрын
The ground clearance of my K989 is about 2.5mm. However, this may not be helpful because my current K989 has had the ESC and other electronic parts replaced. There are two possible reasons why it touches the ground. 1. 284131 is heavier than K989 because it has LED lights and front and rear diffusers. 2. the suspension and arms do not work well. Are you using the stock metal 27t pinion or did you install the 15T plástic one? Great video!

Which gear are you asking about? Is it a motor pinion? All gears are stock plastic. Also, I haven't done anything other than what the video explains.
@newnocski3 жыл бұрын
@@studio55_jp yeah, mine came with a metal pinion on the motor, with i think 27t. Then in the pinion bag, there are another 4 plástic pinions(12t,15t,19t and 20t i think) some say that the 15t one is the best for 1.93 gear ratio. How many t does your pinion have?
@studio55_jp3 жыл бұрын
@@newnocski I think it's 27T. As I said earlier, I'm not doing anything other than what the video explains. That is, the gear has not changed. (Stock state) Also, since my K989 is an early model, all gears are made of plastic. (I think the K989/969 currently on sale has been changed to metal due to a specification change)

Bro what is the difference by removing the "Damper Spacer" on the suspension ?
@studio55_jp3 жыл бұрын
The damper stroke is extended when the spacer is removed. As a result, the road surface followability of the tire is improved. The better the followability, the more traction is applied.
@HawxWon4 жыл бұрын
When I removed the spacer from damper, the bottom of the car can hit the ground easily, making some annoying sound :(
@studio55_jp4 жыл бұрын
Hawx Won Is the road flat? My K989 doesn't make a sound.
@HawxWon4 жыл бұрын
@@studio55_jp Yes it's flat,but if I remove the spacer, one side of the bottom of my car will touch the ground, guess I have to use larger wheels ?
@studio55_jp4 жыл бұрын
Hawx Won I think that is probably because the movement of the lower arm is not smooth. Try disassembling it to remove burrs, and adjust it so that it moves smoothly.

This is not an RC car specific part. It is just a steel plate. It is sold at DIY stores. Anything small and heavy (e.g. magnets) will do.

I see in stores the size of rims 20mm or 22mm. What size must I get? I only know narrow 3.5mm wide 1.5mm
@studio55_jp4 жыл бұрын
The most important thing in choosing a Rim is to choose "for MINI-Z AWD". Other rims cannot be used because the hub shape is different. The mainstream diameter is 20mm, but there are also 22mm. Please choose according to your preference. However, of course, the tire and rim diameters must be the same. As far as I know, there are few types of 22mm tires. So I'm using 20mm. Also, offset must be considered when choosing a rim. If you want to talk more, please send me an Instagram PM.

Simply put, the torque increases and the rear tires become slippery. If you want to know more, you first need to know the basic features of the differential. The basic functions and diff locks of the differential are basically the same as those of 1/10 scale cars and actual cars, so please search the Internet.

Jacob Haley I don't own K969, but I think K969 is perfectly fine. Because the chassis of K969 and K989 are basically the same. The main difference is the rear diff gear, and the K969 is a solid diff, so there is no need to lock it. So I think K969 is more suitable for drift.
