Agreed, considering the state of the rest of the guitar, those holes are fresh so this video is just audience bait. As entertaining as the video may be, I don't like being played like that so I'll probably recommend KZbin doesn't serve me any more videos from this channel.

@@jaynbob42that’s not true, this is one of the few channels that doesn’t do that and it’s clear to see. Just because the holes ‘look’ recent to you doesn’t mean they are, and if they are there could have been all manner of circumstances under which they were made and him getting the instrument.

@@zappasmoustache23 You’re welcome to think what you like but the damage done to a lot of these guitars simply don’t make sense. As a player and somebody who has worked on/repaired many a trashed axe, the damage (by design or not) does not match what people do to guitars. Unless Japan has some weird exception. For instance I currently have a Dean that somebody tried to install an FR bridge and repainted it at the same time. The dings, the bad routing, the bad paint job all look bad, but bad with a purpose. A lot of these guitars aren’t like that. Damage and bad paint for the sake of damage and bad paint. Again though, I’ve nothing against the channel. He’s got good skills and I find it relaxing. I’m not going to complain. It is what it is. Have a good day.

このギターの元の持ち主は相当TAKUYAさんのファンですよ！ 赤いTAKUYAモデルを青に塗装し直して、同じようにペイントを再現した上で、一時期TAKUYAさんが使っていた金属板で作ったGUITAR DE POPロゴまで再現して釘打ちしています。 リペア後のクオリティーも凄いのですが、今回ばかりは元の持ち主のクオリティーも凄まじいものがあり、ちょっともったいないなって思っちゃいましたw。

Honestly, I feel this type of restore takes the "soul" from it and erases the identity of the previous owner. This is great work, don't get me wrong, but why not just fill the holes and improve the playability over forcing conformity of appearance? I don't mean to sound like I'm judging. I'm just interested in hearing diverse perspectives.

The funny thing is, if this belonged to a punk rocker who became famous. The company would issue a custom shop relic model and charge thousands. But in fact it was just the guys first cheap guitar that he did this to.

It's nothing wrong in customise a musical instrument but, for Van Halen sake DO IT WELL! This guy simply puts lots of holes with no pratical sense and a customization that seems made by a 5 years old child. Even if the guy was punk rocker, or even somebody that likes bizarre art or street art, that is lots of ways to do so without damage a guitar.

Why fill all those holes with dowelling and glue, did it make it sound better or only make it heavier than it likely was im the first place? Other than that good on you. My guess , is that it was a boat anchor to start with so the original owner drilled the holes to lighten it up. Personally, I would have drilled many more holes and glued a wood veneer over it, then sanded, primed and painted it.

@@СергейГаганов-ф9и I actually find 99% of stains & grains awful and boring, too. I much prefer solid colours on electrics. Neck - natural, plate of black plastic, nickel or black hardware, for me... Oh, and the neck pickup needed to be a lace Blue with the horrible "wedge" space filled-in.

Eh.... that stain on the neck is REALLY not doing it for me. It looks like a weak dye job (which it is) next to that pickguard! Everything else is amazing. At that point, why not just add a purpleheart fingerboard/veneer?

This is insane, I think the owner really hated their guitar. :( Might be one of the worst conditions I've seen a guitar in. Sad. I don't understand, I have a cheap acoustic guitar that I've played almost daily for 15 years and it's in great condition. I had an electric guitar that I've also played daily for 4 years and sold it in perfect shape, it only had a few superficial scratches. I remember seeing a new scratch and immediately feeling a knot in my gut. Great job reviving it! With the new color scheme it looks amazing.

私の場合は塗料や薬剤が取れない場合はそのままヤスリで削って落とすようにしてるので大丈夫だと思いますよ。

I like this rescue very much. The purpleheart pickguard, dyed neck, and gold HW was particilarly dynamic. My only change preference would be to use a brass nut instead of the bone / tusq / plastic nut, to not pull the off-white look that far away from the body. It's more visual rather than for tone.

Why to take a jacked up Tele style Fernandes and turn it into a work of art. Not crazy about the red color but it works on this build and that's all that is important. If you're happy I'm happy.
