I've been studying games, writing, art, design, etc and something that keeps coming up from the best artists, developers, writers is the idea of 'reiteration' repeating with slight adjustments until the idea matches exactly what the story needs. So I feel like the number of takes is just iteration in another form and it feels bad because the props are human beings, not 3D models, lines, etc etc. I don't think Fincher's number of takes is perfectionism, its just how art works. It makes it easier to make high quality work.

To date myself, as a kid of 9 or 10 watching Alien 3 when it first came to HBO was my first realization that a director could have a unique visual aesthetic or style. Before that it felt to me that directors just stayed out of the way of the story they were trying to tell. Less “director” and more “facilitator”. Fincher was the first to make me take notice.

When I hear the obscene amounts of money thrown out to make a movie is ridiculous. Entertainment is more important than using the money for a purpose in life that’s more than just a memory you watched on a screen.

Would've been cool if they graded the footage to Fincher's color palette 💯

David Fincher is not a writer/director and that is very different from writing your own movies. - Quentin Tarantino

@@StudioBinder He did: Well, look, just for instance, I mean, one of the most talented filmmakers of my generation is David Fincher. All right. But he's not in the same category as me because I'm a writer-director, and that makes a difference. That makes it a different thing. - Quentin Tarantino

This is not a critic ,i loved this video! But i think i speak for a lot of guys that follow you that It would be cool if you guys also explore more directors cause it always seems the same popular circle maybe there could be some vídeos of not so popular mainstream directors or simply some you guys havent really explored like David Lynch or yorgos lanthimos for example and there would still be great videos ,eitherways i LOVE your content!!!

Love it!! " I have a hatred for pink!!" Fincher is obviously a student of Kubrick and Leone...mixed with his own passions!
