I think that's because it was a proof of concept. They scrapped the original intro to save money. It makes sense. This most likely isn't what you'd see on a Netflix but instead something a Netflix Scout would see before actually making this episode.

Ooooh! Either some seriously bad shit went down between episode 5 and episode 6, or StudioBinder decided the series wasn’t worth the effort and just mailed the last episode in. I hope “season 2” is a little more thought out, with more footage and a little more effort put in. Would’ve been nice to see full episodes on Preproduction, principal photography and post production, with a separate episode dedicated to the short (although the short itself did seem like little more than my friends and I put together in TV Production class in Highschool). I know how hard filmmaking is, so I don’t even much mind that the short was subpar from script to execution. I am just disappointed that the “series” ended up as mediocre as the short did. Hopefully Season 2 will be a little more informative.

This, I don't want to be a hater, this channel pumps a lot of good content. But it's like right before the shooting and during editing and post production someone at StudioBinder realized this wasn't as good as some people expected and they ruled the series would get cut short and leave any footage of the editing and post production proccess in the hard drives and just hastly end the series.
@jobegruen42735 жыл бұрын
milovarquiel someone made a point that they are a preproduction software, so that is where they focused. Which I totally get. It is a superior preproduction software. They took what Celtic was doing and improved on it multiple times over. I just felt like the series wasn’t even as thorough for prepro as they sold it to be. It was decent and most of what they put out is really good, as you pointed out. This just felt like they probably shot a lot, but also left just as much on the cutting room floor for one reason or another. I figure that, or their “BTS/Making It team” was just as reliable as their original field recordist was and they didn’t even get much shot. Great channel. I just hoped for a little more from this series.

more than likely, studio binder saw this final product, decided not to pay for any more vlog episodes on the making of because the final result was going to be this slapdash. either that or some serious problems came up during the shoot and they just couldn't release them to the public. lol

Where is the episode on the actual production? In episode 5 SC actually says, "In the next episode I'll be on set...". Really?!? The presentation of the spec should have been either at the end of the Episode 6 or there should be another episode. The recap is just BS. Good job on execution knowing your limited budget and natural drawbacks from things like single location and crew dropping out at the last minute. I feel if you weren't so limited the parts of the script that were cut would've helped to make the end result a bit better. Still the overall setup for the series was communicated. Keep up the good work!

Confusing story. Cringey dialogue. Way too long. Not to mention the technical. Poor sound mix. Awkward stock footage and music. Flat lighting and rec709 look. And this was made for what again? $5,000 in a full weekend with a 10-person crew? Jeez, let one of us take a crack at that. For as hardcore as this guy was about getting all the casting/locations/camera right, he sure....didn’t have a story to tell. and didn’t accomplish a cinematic feel. I’ve seen wedding films shot on a 5D4 that are prettier and more substantial than this. What a drag of a reveal

So you showed us how to do a film on a budget, then, out of the blue, this heavily produced intro with more actors, voice overs, graphics, stock footage, production costs, etc. What did that cost? Where was that in the budget? Why wasn't it even mentioned in the first five episodes? It certainly wasn't all for free. I had no idea what I was watching at first because it came out of left field. Love the content on this channel, but all this did was show how to use your software. Why not just do a series about filming a project using your software instead of creating drama with having to do super low budget? Filmmaking can be dramatic enough - sure you'll get a good story sling the way.

IMO, the actual show looked like it was made from a bunch of film school graduates who only been in the industry for a year. All the shots you guys had were zoomed in making the background blurry which is a minsconception of having a cinematic look, also I know there was all the budget stuff and you guys were using what you had but using a RODE microphone and I think that was a Zoom H4n during the last scene when he stepped out the car is such a anti professional mistake when your trying to show professionals as the actual interviewers. I don’t think the point of this was to make a masterpiece film. It was to show how preproduction and execution works. Handling budgets, getting crew and actors, while this definitely didn’t need to cost $5000 and could have been done far better even with little to no money, the point is showing how it works. I think people in the comments don’t get that 🤔 I agree though, not showing stuff on set and the editing and colour grading sucks.

What you ended up with is way better and more professional than anything I could do so why would I even try? If it didn't work for you then why would it work for me? Or: All of this is fake and just an ad for studio binder. In other words your buisness is studio binder thats how you are making money. Not making tv shows but selling a product. Your just showing off your product in a real world situation. My guess is it's the latter.
