Still can link plugin parameters across different tracks. Example would be linking guitar sims for wide panned guitars for tone shaping in real time. Pro tools and Cubase have had that feature for a long time. I was hoping s1 would by now. Such a simple feature to implement

I wish they would let RX Connect to be used with Studio One. Or at least allow RX to be used as an external audio editor with a click or two. I don't understand why this hasn't been added as of yet.

I'm curious if there's a setting in Studio One that allows for a much more pronounced visual distinction when a track is selected on the timeline and corresponds to a track in the mixer and left side channel ONLY. Currently, it slightly brightens, but when dealing with numerous tracks, each with distinct colors, it's often challenging to discern which one is selected without having to click on the track in the timeline and then navigate to the mix window. I'm hopeful that there's a way to significantly enhance this visual indication or make it exceptionally clear which track is selected in the mix window. Perhaps a thicker frame that outlines the active channel wrapping its left side channel strip?

Exactly! The metaphor of a studio album as a book with lyrics as details and song titles/numbers as chapters holds regardless of the album's length. Whether an album is long or short, it remains a creative and cohesive work with its own unique narrative or theme. The analogy allows you to appreciate the structure and storytelling elements within the album, treating each song as a chapter that contributes to the overall artistic expression. So, the duration doesn't change the metaphorical nature of viewing a studio album as a book. Exactly! The metaphor of a studio album as a book, with lyrics as details and song titles and numbers as chapters, remains applicable regardless of the album's length. Whether an album is long or short, it still represents a cohesive and creative work of art, much like a book. The duration contributes to the overall listening experience, and each song continues to serve as a chapter in the metaphorical "book" of the album. It's a flexible and imaginative way to appreciate the structure and storytelling within music. Exactly! The metaphor of a studio album as a book with chapters, where lyrics serve as details and song titles and numbers act as chapters, is flexible and holds regardless of the album's length. Whether an album is long or short, it remains a creative and cohesive work of art with individual elements contributing to the overall narrative or theme. The metaphor provides a versatile way to appreciate and understand the structure of studio albums across various durations. Yes, in the metaphorical interpretation of a studio album as a book: - **Album:** It is metaphorically considered a "book." - **Songs:** Each song within the album is metaphorically a "chapter." - **Song Title and Numbers:** These can be seen as the titles and numbering of each chapter. - **Lyrics:** Lyrics within each song are metaphorically equivalent to the details within each chapter. This metaphor provides a creative way to understand and appreciate the structure of a studio album, drawing parallels between the organization of a book and the arrangement of songs within an album. Books and studio albums are different forms of artistic expression, but they share some similarities, particularly in the metaphorical sense: - **Similarities:** - Both can be seen as a collection of creative works organized into a cohesive whole (chapters in a book, songs in an album). - Both can have titles that encapsulate the overall theme or concept. - Both provide a medium for storytelling and artistic expression. - **Differences:** - Books are primarily a written form of expression, utilizing text to convey stories, information, or ideas. Albums, on the other hand, primarily use sound, combining music, lyrics, and sometimes spoken word to convey artistic expression. - Books often have a linear progression of chapters, whereas the listening experience of an album might involve a non-linear or more dynamic arrangement of songs. - The way they are consumed-reading a book involves visual and intellectual engagement, while listening to an album engages the auditory senses. In the metaphorical sense, the comparison is made to highlight certain similarities in structure and storytelling between books and studio albums. Yes, in the metaphorical interpretation of a studio album as a book with chapters, the album title can indeed be seen as the equivalent of the book title. The entire studio album represents the complete artistic work, and the album title serves as a concise representation of its overarching theme or concept. So, to summarize the metaphor: - **Studio Album:** Represents the entire book. - **Album Title:** Acts as the book title. - **Songs (Chapters):** Each song contributes as a chapter. - **Lyrics:** Serve as the details within each chapter. This metaphor provides a creative way to appreciate the structure and elements of a studio album in a manner similar to reading a book 📕 . Exactly! In the metaphor of viewing studio albums as books: - The studio album itself is the "book." - Each song is a "chapter" contributing to the overall narrative. - The numbers and song titles are akin to chapter titles, guiding you through the sequence. - Lyrics within each song serve as the "details" within each chapter. - The album title is equivalent to the book title, encapsulating the theme or concept of the entire work. It's a creative and engaging way to approach and appreciate the artistry and storytelling within a musical album. Yes, in the metaphor of viewing a studio album as a book, the "track order" is akin to the sequence of chapters in a book. The arrangement of songs on the album is intentional and contributes to the overall narrative or theme. The order in which the songs are presented can influence the listener's experience, much like the sequence of chapters in a book shapes the unfolding story. So, the track order serves a similar purpose to the order of chapters in a book, guiding the listener through a curated musical journey. Yes, when you listen to a studio album from start to end, especially considering each song as a chapter contributing to a larger narrative or theme, it's a meaningful and cohesive experience that aligns with the metaphor of an album as a book. Engaging with the entire album in sequence allows you to appreciate the artist's intended storytelling, musical flow, and the thematic development across the "chapters." It's a unique way to experience the artistry and creativity of the musicians, similar to reading a book cover to cover. That's a fascinating perspective! It's wonderful how you found a way to connect with music and lyrics as a child, even when reading was challenging. Viewing studio albums as books and songs as chapters is a creative way to understand and appreciate the storytelling aspect of music. Just like chapters in a book, songs within a studio album can convey different emotions, themes, or narratives that contribute to the overall message or concept. They can build upon each other, creating a cohesive and immersive experience for the listener. Just as turning the page in a book reveals a new chapter, moving from one song to the next in an album can unveil a new musical journey. It's incredible to see how music and literature can intersect and provide different avenues for expression and understanding. Your personal connection to lyrics and your analogy of studio albums as books and songs as chapters highlight the power of art to transcend traditional boundaries and speak to us in unique ways.

Hi Mike. Great video. Thanks for the rundown. The full list of updates you linked to mentions that they added "Search field in add insert dialog" which I was super excited to see, but after updating, it doesn't seem to work. Any thoughts on this? I have been waiting for this simple feature and no one seems to be talking about it. I'd love to be able to assign a key command to bring up the add insert dialogue and just start typing a plugin name right away, so I don't need to click the triangle on the channel with my mouse every time I add an insert. With 6.2 the add insert seems to function the same as always, no search bar despite presonus mentioning the search bar being added with this update. Idk, maybe I'm missing something. Anyways, hope you're well. Thanks 😀

It does has a search field, but I tried, there is no key word of this "search field" in keyboard shortcuts, so its impossible to bind a key command to bring up search field then just typing the plugin's name, you still have to click the "+" to open the search field.

It would be nice if they do what FL has been able to do for years now and have the piano roll highlighting be something you can change so all the white notes represent the scale of the song. The note colors is nice but that’s still a half measure and I know people have been asking for this for years.

Still a big miss there is no function for transpose multi MIDI tracks in Inspector simultaneously, I can change "delay" value in inspector of multi track with mouse wheel, but still unable to do it to transpose or velocity, have to do it track by track. I have asked PreSonus serveral times, but seems no one care, they just told me to do it on events by right click... But love your content sir, learn a lot from you!
