Outstanding video. I have been stuck in old school mode keyswitch mode (which results in extra steps if also using chord track). I knew there was a better way but this is even better than I thought and your demonstration was exactly what I needed. Thanks Mike for all the wonderfully instructive videos you do! There are several you tubers producing really good instructional content for Studio One but when it comes to taking a feature and breaking it down, demonstrating EXACTLY how it works and can be implemented, your work is absolutely top notch!

Oh man, thanks so much for that Mike, I'd completely forgotten about sound variations and this is how I first started using key switches when I first got into Studio One. Recently, I'd gotten to just draw in the key on the piano roll but as you said it's clunky and it messes up the score view. I'm definitely going to start using those again

Good pedagogic video. But you missed one of the downsides of using typical key-switch method. If you want to transpose using the chord track feature (of studio one), or by selecting all in the piano roll, you would mess upp the key-switches as well. There is also a paid articulation collection, Art Conductor by babylon waves. They have made articulations for a lot of plugins, and they have arranged them in such a way, that it many cases you could switch the plugin for another and get the same articulation, without having to program them in for the new instrument. The downside is that it is a paid collection, so if you get used to it, and you get plugins that you don't have articulations for, you have to upgrade to a newer collection that includes them.

Is it possible to copy / duplicate a sound variation sequence of 8 bars violin 1 (where I wrote the note articulations) to violin 2 without reproducing it manually? if so, how?

I used Sound Variations in my project, but when exporting MIDI files, only notes were present and I couldn't convert those sound variations into MIDI information. Therefore, exporting to other software does not work properly. Is there any way to reverse the command 'Assigning Sound Variations to Note Events via Right click'?😪
