I can tell you from experience. I took my diabetic mom out of the nursing home to live with me in 2020 during the pandemic. I lowered her carb intake and rarely gave her anything sweet. We did eat meat however, processed food was extremely limited. Most people would never know she was once hallucinating, in a wheelchair, and could hardly talk! She’s 84 yrs old and off her Metformin, too!

Exactlyyyyyyyyyyyyy- my aunt suffered and passed from complications of Alzheimer’s, and, sadly, I wasn’t as verbal about my research on the healing or deterrence of this disease but high carb diets- as what most nursing homes serve (striking deep memories of being 12 visiting my grandmother in nursing home with Alzheimer’s, and them feeding so much carbs and sugar at mealtime)- are literally the worst thing for the brain. Our brains seek rest and that diet never provides it. No space to heal. And our modern breads are like cotton candy compared to biblical breads. I’m grateful you were able to reverse the process Low carb, moderate fat diets to fuel the brain. Our bodies need cholesterol- but that is what many diets tell us to abstain from…after 10 years a vegan, I felt like my brain was starving and coconut oil alone wasn’t doing enough for me… in my 20s I felt like I was losing my mind…. Until I stopped being vegan and began another healing journey. Biblical diet outside of the garden is a very balanced plate of clean Levitical foods. The most High already gave us answers. And above all else prayer and supplication 💓🙌🏾

Meat heals. ❤ The Carnivore Diet has done wonders for many, it raises the good cholesterol which feeds the brain. ❤ The fat of beef is actually good for the brain and nutritious our brains, and also has healing effects. I didn't know all this a year ago -- it's amazing though. So glad to hear this. ❤

I saw a video of a dementia patient who didn't remember her children, what she had for breakfast, or anything else. But when they asked if she was going to heaven, her dead eyes lit up and she said, " yes, because I know Jesus". So she still remembered the one important thing

Despite our health conditions, Jesus will always be able to connect with us! Blessings!
I am blessed to have a physician that believes in lifestyle changes over pharmaceuticals. Under his guidance and lifestyle changes I now have a normal range thyroid no need for medication, no need for statins, and pray that my bone density has improved on my next DEXA scan the end of the month. Thank you for this information as I will share it with others.

Thank you Dr. Marcum for another great video. I truly believe lifestyle change is needed for us all-dementia or not. We need to be proactive and stay away from process foods. It would be nice they do another similar study, but add lean meat-chicken breast and wild caught bake salmon. I would like your thoughts on foods like baked chicken and baker salmon. Thanks

I saw a really good video with Dr Berg on how a diet including sugar, high fructose corn syrup, processed foods, refined grains, garbage carbs FEED cancer and progression of Alzheimer's. Also elderly greater risk due to poor diets, continual dehydration and low vit D3(lack of sun exposure) which has a great impact on our immune systems

The same lifestyle changes can also prevent and reverse other chronic diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabete, heart disease and cancer. It's a no brainer. The carnivore and keto people will be having these problems unless they get off the animal products.

Dr Mark, do you believe a WFPD diet is the best diet? So much confusion out there
@RK-tf8pq7 ай бұрын
There is a lot confusion because so may social media influencer want to tell you what you want to hear (to get the views) and spread misinformation. I read many scientific papers on nutrition and have come to conclusion that WFPB diet is very healthy. Dr. Ornish also did successful study on atherosclerosis plaque reversal by WFPB diet in early 1990s. That was further confirmed by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn at the Cleveland clinic by imaging evidence. WFPB diet is the only diet that has scientifically shown to reverse the atherosclerosis plaque. Dr. Neal Bernard at George Washington School of Medicine has reversed type 2 diabetes by WFPB diet. Dr. Kristi Funk, an internationally known breast cancer surgeon recommends WFPD diet to reduce the risk of cancer. WFPB diet has shown to reduce cholesterol very rapidly and reduce blood pressure. I have been on WFPB diet for about 10 years (I do take B12 supplements), and my blood tests are excellent. My total cholesterol level is between 150-160, well below the upper limit of 200. My weight remains in the BMI range of 21-22 without counting calories (I eat till satisfied, never diet). Dr. Dean Ornish has also shown biological age reversal at the chromosome level by WFPB diet. This was shown by increase in telomeres length when people were put on the WFPB diet. The telomeres become shorter as we age, but this intervention was first time that increase in telomeres length was seen.
