exercises like this make it clear that painting is legit 80-90% just drawing. all just about drawing shapes. i remember a long time ago i tried to separate drawing and painting as if they're 2 different things, but came to realise that painting is drawing

I'd say it's moreso sculpting. Drawing usually thinking in lines as opposed to shapes imo

True. But drawing refers to structure, perscpective, knowledge of form, visual coordination, etc… sculpting can be done in drawing aswell
