In this video, I explain the benefits and requirements of the Doktor Para sa Bayan Act so that you can take full advantage of it to study in med school for free.
With the lack of doctors in the provinces according to the latest data, this act will hopefully help to train more doctors who will work in areas with underserved communities. Hello! I have read tons of articles about the scholarship. I have read the Act but nothing is giving me the answer where to submit the requirements. After taking NMAT say i got 99% and qualifies for UPM. What shall i do? shall I visit UPM and apply for the scholarship? Please respond to this comment. Thank you vv much! Good luck doc!

To my understanding, the application for the scholarship in SUC medical schools starts after you get accepted into the school. However, it would be best to inquire with the admissions office of the school as you apply.

Doc, I have a question. Is there any limit to the number of beneficiaries of the said scholarship program per region? The DOH Scholarship have limit to the number of scholars they're accepting per region. I wonder if it also applies to the "Doktor Para sa Bayan Act" scholarship program as well.

Currently, there’s no exact provision that I can find on the limit of beneficiaries, but I’d assume it depends on the budget available per SUC medical school

Can you specialize in radiology if ever, while doing the return of service? For example you will work at a government hospital under DOH , can you become a resident Doctor at Radiology Department?

Clarification lang po kasi I read the RA and got a little confused. So, if ever I get qualified, however I failed a subject, I'll be disqualified from the MSRS Program then have to repay all the support I got?

Based on Section 7 of the RA, if you fail to meet the academic requirements or graduate within the specified time prescribed by the SUC or PHEI, you can get disqualified. Failing a subject doesn't necessarily mean you will automatically be disqualified from the MSRS program I think. However, better to clarify this with the institution you wish to apply to.

Yes but whether or not that would be a violation of the RSA is if the training institution is approved by the government

For college grads and HS grads who are part of the INTARMED program. But mostly college grads since super limited ang slots for INTARMED

Second and higher year students as well as long as they have complied with the academic requirements of their school in the years preceding their scholarship application

Hello po, kindly help us what to do. The act is not friendly to understand and no one is answering on our inquiries. What school are under this RA act? 2nd question is what if you get lNMAT score that are not qualified for RA ACT school for meds. Thank you po.

For question #1, I list the partner schools at 1:36 of the video. For question #2, you need to qualify for the partner medical school before you can get the scholarship so getting the minimum NMAT score for that school is a must

It's not clearly stated in any of the resources I found when researching this topic, but I'd assume the school you're applying to will do it for you. Better to ask the partner school just to be sure.
