A small note from me... jazmine :) Hi everyone, I hope you are keeping well. I've realised that my stroke order is wrong with Hangul thanks to your very helpful comments, and it was my mistake.😊 By learning Japanese for 5 years and doing it as a Major, I understand how important it is to learn stroke order with Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. You would be so surprised that I still write some hiragana wrong after all of these years😭! Learning Languages is my NO.1 hobby (after coffee and moccas), and I know how slow but greatly rewarding the process is. (And yes I realise that I won't be good at Korean for at least 1 year lol) And of course I always strive to show you my real and honest learning process. It's not perfect, neither is it the right way for everyone, but I'm here to boost your motivation which in turn boosts mine 😆... and that's why I keep making videos! Thank you for always supporting me and see you in the next video 💕 Love, Jazmine

Hey, Do you powerpoint slides for like absolute beginners that you don't mind sharing via google drive? Thank you so much for this video by the way, it's quite motivating since I'm studying both languages.😊
@jpolachini4 жыл бұрын
I think that's no such a thing as "writing wrong". At the end of the day if you can still manage to write the character in a way you and people who's gonna read can identify them it is ok! The strokes order makes them easier to write (mostly cause people used to write with brushes back then) and I think it's cool for us learner to know them (i think it's respectful toward the culture) but you don't have to feel bad about that at all also. I know I write some korean characters with the wrong order, but it works better for me (maybe cause I'm already used to the japanese order lol). I love your videos, they keep me motivated for my own studies :)

some topics for the beginner: * learn 한글 (ABc and its pronunciation) first. don’t rely on romanization. * use grid paper, so your letters’ll be more accurate and beautiful (same size tho) * it’s true that as a beginner you should learn a right way to write 한글, it won’t matter later when you’ll write faster and in your own way, but to gain that you better write correctly at first.

I’m so excited that you’re starting Korean. It’s such an amazing language. I have a lot of resources for you :)) - Translators: I highly recommend Naver Dictionary online and Papago (it is a more accurate translator than Google. Good for Asian languages) - I’ve seen this elsewhere on here but I highly discourage the use of romanization. It’s not that accurate and it will mess with you a lot :)) - Talk to Me in 100% Korean for full immersive listening. If you pair it with their english yt channel it is good for cross translation! - Viki (kdramas) is good for Korean learning because they have a Learn Mode and a built in dictionary! - Audio Clip and KBS Radio Theater is good for listening too. KBS R.T also has a transcript for every single episode! For beginner listening material I recommend the kid’s show Hello Jadoo and Talk To Me In Korean’s Iyagi (online and podcast). Hope this helps anyone who reads it! Also about the ㅎ sound, I recommend the first method with the first stroke up vertically. It is a lot easier to write it that way :D

Don't use romanization just learn hangeul first
@ron_peasley4 жыл бұрын
i agree i used romanizations before i started learning korean and it kinda helps for new learners, but learning the korean alphabet and dropping romanization as soon as possible will help out a lot in the long run. i learned the alphabet in less than a day so it is easily doable! also, words like 맛 can be easily misread as "mas" due to the romanization. using a "t" there would be inaccurate because of ㄷ and ㅌ, but an "s" there may cause confusion. so it is best to learn the korean alphabet and 받침 (letter pronunciation rules) very early on!

Nice video:) I would say thoug, when learning japanese, espacially reading japanese - cover romaji completly and also the furigana! romaji totally kills pronounciation. And when you have a lot of furigana we tend to read them instead of trying to actually read the kanji! so of course, if it's a new word that you don't know it's great to have them, but I think depending too much on them on kanji you will have to learn soon anyway might be counterproductive^^ but keep it up! Learning multiple languages at once is quite a challenge! So watching your videos is very inspiring:)

With Korean you need to memorize the alphabet so that you don’t rely on romanization. Using it as a crutch is one of the worst things you can do. & Don’t worry about your handwriting. What works for you will happen naturally 😊 have fun + don’t stress yourself out about it 💖
