It will be tough. Many people in undergrad will try and distract you because of how excited they are socially for college. Saying no to people, while maintaining relationships is the tough part. Med school is different because you're more on your own.

I really enjoyed your video. Im currently a second year as well. It's eye opening because I put in 12 hour days, and on weekends at least 10-12 hours. I'm just curious to know how you do it with the classes. Your schedule is strict so that makes sense, it's just when I add the hours it seems so little compared to me. Trying to get on your level haha

+Roxanna De La Torre I'm pretty flexible with my schedule so I study a little more or less depending on how comfortable I am with the subject. Your schedule it´s pretty weird...... don´t take it the wrong way it seems like a usual routine but that´s the weird thing............. I´m from Guatemala, and I´m currently at the 3rd year (I don´t really know how to say it) but here, our schedule it´s basically going to the university from 8 am to 4 pm (so i usually wake up at 6:30 am) and basically studying, reading and working from 4 pm to 1 am............... and we have exams every day except the weekends of course....... I´m just saying, usually we get used to think that because you are from the US your study routines are harder but this doesn´t seems like it:/ . Anyway nice video and thanks for the advice:)

How do you stick to the schedule/avoid distractions?
@TheStrivetoFit8 жыл бұрын
+jesssicazz I try to set very specific and doable goals for the day (e.g. I want to master x, y, z concepts and I will do x number of question for each topic/concept). I often find myself being distracted by social media/my phone so I try to keep my phone out of sight & silent, turn off unnecessary notifications, and uninstall apps that I waste time on. If I'm doing flashcards or doing questions, I find that it's better to do them on the iPad where it's harder to multitask. If I try to do them on a computer browser, I would have multiple tabs open and it gets pretty distracting. I also enjoy doing flashcards/simple recall questions while I walk on the treadmill bc it forces me to stay in one place and focus on my task. When all else fails, I ask a classmate/friend to talk through a concept/idea/topic with me :) hope this helps!!

I have couple recipe videos that might be helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIqVg5xnjrKcaZI (baked ziti) kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpyTiI2uYsidg9k (turkey chili) I usually make a big pot of something easy to pack like chili/rice+meat/pasta once a week & I supplement it with different snacks (fruits, greek yogurt, snackable veggies like baby carrots or celery, etc) so it doesn't get too boring. I'll definitely try to come up with more ideas & make a video on it. Thanks for the request!

I didn't use firecracker or anki for gross anatomy! I spent most of my time in the anatomy lab actually seeing the structures in person. I think that's probably the best way-- If you can find some good diagrams and pictures that you can anki I'm sure that would be helpful too!

Question, i live in Texas and want to become and dermatologist. I have a bachelors so I'm thinking of going to medical school. I work full time and have a fairly easy management job. Not sales or grinding but work m-f 9-5, my question is...if i can study a lot at work can this work? I also am wondering if any schools offer classes at night and weekend or if they are all set times. Thank you :-)
@sanahaaliya52598 жыл бұрын
majority of medical students don't work. between preparing for classes, attending classes/labs/small groups/, having study sessions, etc. there is basically no time for work. the course load can be overwhelming and you want to use your time wisely to be an efficient and effective student. Fafsa gives you enough for school and to live off of so I would recommend going for it but not working. good luck!!!
