I love this! It's such a good reminder of what can open up for us if we take time with our cards and the visual symbols. (I'm reminding myself because it's so easy for me to rush through a reading lol.)

Yah it is easy to rush through readings! Throw cards down, jot down a few sentences, call it a day 😂 This study activity has been great for slowing down a little bit, while I can also stop at any time, before I start feeling bored.

This is such a fun way to study a deck! I typically don't full-on write a guidebook either, unless the deck didn't come with one and there are lots of details I want to save for later. This would be a great way to incorporate a card of the day too, I did this with The Gentle Tarot last year and read the guidebook entry + wrote about the symbolism for one card a day until I got through a full deck.

Yeah, it's a great card-a-day practice for an intermediate or advanced-beginner! "Lots of details I want to save for later" is exactly what inspired me to start this study. The Muse Tarot is packed with stuff and I wanted to savor it all! And wowow the absolute dedication to the Gentle Tarot 👀

It was great to see how you make meaning, thank you for sharing!! I did pause and make my own words. My words for the knight were: moving towards new adventure, moving through mystery, intrepid. However, I also saw that you noticed more details, which I’d like to practice more.

"Moving through mystery," yes! Honestly, it first took me a few years of learning tarot from books & other sources, and hearing other people talk about symbols on the cards. *Now* thanks to those, I finally understand better how these details contribute to the overall card.

Thanks! I imagine that could mean Queen of Wands is connected to things that seem distant or foreign to others (kinda like bridging two worlds).

This was an awesome exercise and I want to try it with some of my decks as well. Do you try this with oracles too?

Glad it's helpful for ya! I haven't considered many oracles yet. Thinking on it now, there's a couple with good symbology that I could consider -- anything with art that "makes you think," right? Reclaim Oracle (and Lilifer Tarot, by the same creator) and Poesis Oracle are two I can think of right now.
