my friend also experienced that BUT she actually answered correctly, just not confident enough because she is unsure + the teacher is very very scary to us. Then my teacher decided to scold her in front of the class. I see why the teacher did that, because she wants my friend to become more confident, but that's definetly not the way to encourage someone to become better. What's worse that my friend was depressed and suicidal during that period. So guys, please mind of how you speak.

I used to get impatient too when I didn’t understand and saw everyone else did and ended up giving up and getting bad marks on tests. But then I realized that when it was time for exams I would be more patient and organized and would seriously look up videos of explanation and then finally would get good marks. That’s when I realized that sometimes it’s not that you’re bad at it but that you’re giving up on it way too easily. After all, practices makes perfect (or just good enough, if like me, you’re not a math genius)

Its like math scares, im kinda afraid of math, does that make sense? And my teacher, he really makes me scared, he insults everytime I don't get good marks and its kinda depressing too, and I always end up skipping math tests. I think teachers should make comfortable environment around students so that they can study w ease and not stress or out of fear. I just wish if my teacher never had me be so afraid of math I could've done so much better if he was cooperative :( update: okay so I had my math exam yesterday and fr I studied so hard I didnt even sleep for three days. and the exam went okay, not good and not bad, but I wished for it to be really good as I studied really hard but the self doubt always kept kicking back in and I messed up everything, math is actually a nightmare no matter how good I study for it, it will eventually go wrong as it is u cant be positive w ur nightmares and I have no idea why im blabbering sm so yeah nvm. and pls do pray for my good result I freaking worked so hard trust me and im already proud of myself I dont even care ab the results BUT I STILL DO CARE SO PLS PRAY FOR ME

Step by step process. Master each concept Do topical questions before doing the full question paper. Practice the popular questions. Make mistakes and strength basics. Key concepts and builing upon that. Start of with easier questions from earlier yrs. Do a topic, move on to the next and again go to the first topic (Active Recall) Make this a part of ur daily routine. When u get questions wrong: Write down the entire thought process, logic behind why u did that in that particular way. And if u dont understand the question then Write down key things. Write down formulas + imp notes in a small notebook & Write down common+imp questions. Redo the entire paper (if exm paper is 2H longs then leave out 45 mins to redo the paper) Be patient w yourself.

However, the moment I told myself that I am capable of being good at math, I found myself staying alert in class and taking detailed notes. Later I would come home and do my homework right away and watch videos/ ask for help if I was confused. Therefore, my mark gradually improved and I got 86 percent in my math final exam. However, I am hoping to get 90's this year. I will definitely use your tips.

The advice, in the end, was something I didn't know I needed. I was so fed up with myself for not getting the concept while my friend was doing it like a calculator. Above all, my teacher is under the impression that I'm dumb. I am the topper in all the subjects except math. So, I thought math is not my thing. After hearing the advice, I realized it is not a problem simply with my subject but my life as well. I am a really insecure person. Being bad at math added weight to my insecurity list. In the end, I understood that patience is all I needed. Learning is like a process like cooking and requires patience, it is not like ordering a pizza. I needed to be patient with myself and not expect things that other do from me.

The worst is when I was a kid, I'd understand all concepts of every subjects easily and this went on until Year 8. And then everything finally came tumbling down so now, I'm basically struggling to get back up. In Year 9, my Chinese maths teacher went, "You're Chinese, aren't you? So why aren't you good at maths?" That broke my confidence until today. It's also why it's difficult for me to admit my mistakes because I don't want to be a disappointment to any of my teachers but after watching this video, I truly realized that not everyone's the same. That some of us do need more time and practice just like how some don't. That comparing ourselves to others does nothing but deteriorates our mental health. I appreciate KZbin recommending this video nonstop until I watched it today cause I never knew I needed this ❤❤❤

8:28 I also agree with your thinking, when I was in elementary school, in short, before the covid pandemic hit my country. I was one of the exemplary students who always became the permanent champion in my class, namely 3rd place. In the past, when I was in 4th grade, I was always the fastest in answering math questions in every lesson, and my teacher didn't hesitate to praise me as an intelligent child. But I realized that the math material my teacher gave me would be different every day.. and that's when I answered a question about the same thing, I turned the previous sheet again to cheat on the calculation method I used to solve the problem. That's why I know that everything I learn is more about memorizing than understanding. Nevertheless, I feel lucky to have found this video, how much motivation you give every word. Hopefully in the future I can become a better person.

The thing is even if you have talent in Math you can still be bad at it. I was really good at math like really good . My mother had studied Physics and Math like professionally so I guess that is why I am good at it too. So everything was going great until I transferred to another school. Before that I even attended math competition but because I was used to understanding everything from class and not doing extra work I didn't have the habit of writing math homework or opening the textbook to learn the material. I just learned everything from the teacher' s explanation during class. When I transferred to the new school the teacher relied on that we would study the material at home and only briefly explained it. That led to me becoming from a straight A student in Math to an average and unlike as before when I enjoyed studying Math and some days I even solved tasks only for fun now I feel super anxious even when sb just mentions math. So I think being good at Math depends a lot on your teacher and study method as well.

Faye, I really like the first tip but most people don't have the mental strength to just study math suddenly. I only came here to try to do better on the second-year subjects I was pretty lazy to look at the teacher so next time am doing that. just trying to find tips and the first 1 is good but not many people do it. pretty common not many people like math but keep up the great work!😉

I got 04/40 on my 3rd term exam & i will be back to this video and edit this comment to let you guys know how much I improved in final exam please pray for me ♡ Edit: it's been a while and I just wanna say that this did worked a bit but compared to last final examination I got 47/100 in 2021 and same thing on 2022..47/100 but I think it's just my fault why I got the same results as before but this year I'm doing a fresh start so I will try to get A+ this year...btw I was in (B) section last year...and this year I'm in (A) section... I'm pretty sure i made it to this section because of English...I got the highest marks in grammar compared to other sections and other classmates

One thing I learned is I should've sharpen my skill in high school math (algebra and trigo stuffs) because these are among the fundamental cores of math, especially if you're going in Engineering. I'm currently third year at ChemE and I realy struggled during my Differential Equation subject haha. Now I'm still reviewing the foundation math since it's like the missing puzzle. Hope I can still catch up

it's kind of difficult for me when we go to a new page everyday we have math. somehow we get 10-15 questions but they're really hard. you have to finish the questions and undertsand at the same time. i used to be so good at math and nowadays i've just given up on math and this video came up. motivated me to work with some math questions and i understand so much better! thank you Faye! :)
