hi linh! as someone who’s been learning mandarin all her life (from as early as i could speak haha), i’ve found that it helps to watch chinese-speaking shows to basically observe the intonations people stress, then copy them. of course, there are slight differences from region to region, so do take note of that! also, it helps to open up/relax your jaw when speaking so that the intonations as well as sh-, ch- and c- etc. sounds are more discernible. hope this helps! good luck in college, i love ur content so much ❤️🥰

tip for learning languages: my spanish teacher always tells us not to listen to english music while learning spanish because hearing the english while trying to speak spanish can confuse your brain!

Some tips for you and Kayla! When she comes and interrupts your studying she's probably just curious about what you're doing and wants to join you so making a little nap spot for her somewhere near your workspace (just an old box, or if you want to get a little cuter maybe a basket if she digs baskets) will give her a spot to join you without distracting you! I personally have come to love it when my cats interrupt me when I'm doing something because it reminds me to take breaks from work and just enjoy their companionship for a second. You may also want to consider adding kibble, or dry food, to her diet. Wet food is a great choice for your cat's main diet, especially considering she's an indoor cat, however you may want to offer her some dry kibble (possibly just left out as a grazing option alongside your normal feeding routine) mainly for her dental health, dry kibble acts kinda like a toothbrush where wet food doesn't at all.
