I wish Professor Arguelles well with his online venture. If he ever established a bricks-and-mortar language academy, I think it should be one offering English as a foreign language _together with_ his polyglottery training. Realistically there would be far greater demand for the English training (we might lament the fact, but such is surely the way of the world?) However this would keep the operations well afloat financially, and could perhaps help to carry the more specialist and esoteric aspect?🤔

Yes Jay but brick and mortar is expensive, he can do as you suggest but online...

Professor Arguelles is all about theory and he never have real conversations with native speakers. Richard Simcott is a polyglot like Luca Lampariello while Mr Arguelles is not! I won't call Arguelles a fraud but a guy that we've never have heard speaking the languages he says he speaks. Mr Arguelles is always interviewing in his native language: English. Arguelles doesn't have the credibility to teach foreign languages but you could learn the theory about foreign languages.

There are some videos on his channel where he speaks some of his languages. I watched his videos where he spoke Arabic with native speakers and to be honest his Arabic (MSA) is really impressive, good choice of vocabulary and pronunciation which is unusual for the native English speakers. And he is very academic in his languages which I like as well not just some street talk.

I don't hear him talk about theory all that much. It's mostly hands-on exercises that he uses and shares (e.g. hardly anyone would be doing "shadowing" in language learning if it weren't for him. He was one of the main popularisers of that particular exercise). The rest just seems to be a by-product of what his own focus is: reading literature. Someone like Luca has to display his oral abilities a bit more because conversational fluency is what he's selling. Alexander is selling something more akin to philology or comparative literature, what he calls "polyliteracy", so the focus is on the ability to read, more so than conversational fluency.

I have personally spoken to him on several occasions in French and German, have heard him give an interview many years ago in Spanish, and there are several videos of him conversing in Arabic.

He does speak languages on many of his videos. But his main love is literature, so he focusses alot on reading. He has developed the best techniques for being able to read literature in foreign languages.
